Very well told, entertaining, reads like a novel, hard to put down, a unique part of the opioid epidemic

1 the course in miracles is somewhat tough to listen to to begin with - with its round and round and round thinking, contorted arguing and Christian terminology, but I get it. It ultimately is a great classic spiritual text.
2. But someone at Audible had a truly terrible idea - to play elevator / spa music constantly in the background. Really? Does the pope play elevator music when he speaks? Is the Dalai Lama accompanied by spa music when he gives a lecture? Does Yogananda, Ramana Maharshi or Nisargadatta’s lectures come with elevator music?
To make it clear - this is not only annoying, it actually deteriorates the effect, it harm the book. One spiritual exercise consists in “listening to the silence between the words”, “paying attention to the gaps “….whoever had this bad idea at audible is really not anywhere on his or her spiritual path. This person might have been well meaning but ended up harming the production.
Audible, please remove the moronic background music. Customers, be very careful before buying this.

Too much talk about personal relationship with a teacher

Good parts, but a lot of discussion of the relationship to a spiritual teacher, which is not helpful in our times. Most people will never have a personal teacher or guru or “spiritual friend” as the author words it.

A literally complete overview and excellent explanation of awakening, a kind of all-in-one lecture, a summary of his teaching, given for a Los Angeles (UCLA) audience. Directed at, meant for younger and more intellectual listeners. Brilliant.

Tolle is the best teacher and shows the straight path to enlightenment, best of all, in plain, simple English, without any fancy foreign words, without special vocabulary or technical slang. He is lighthearted, clear, brilliant and unique. Nobody (that I know of at least) presents the eternal spiritual knowledge in such straightforward fashion. No techniques required, no gimmicks, no cult. Just wisdom, just the way I like it
