Historia
Frederick Fife was born with an extra helping of kindness in his heart. If he borrowed your car, he’d return it washed with a full tank of gas. The problem is there’s nobody left in Fred’s life to borrow from. At eighty-two, he’s desperately lonely, broke, and on the brink of homelessness. But Fred’s luck changes when, in a bizarre case of mistaken identity, he takes the place of grumpy Bernard Greer at the local nursing home. Now he has warm meals in his belly and a roof over his head—as long as his poker face is in better shape than his prostate and that his look-alike never turns up.

the book tells the story about what happened at the plant during and after the big earthquake in Japan but gives no details on survival stories from outside the plant which would have made for a gripping story. The plant details told a story not heard in the news reports but I was disappointed that more detail was not given to the chaos and survival that may have taken place around Japan at the time.

Historia
In August 2005, the New York City Fire Department released approximately 23 hours of radio dispatch audio recordings from the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. This came after The New York Times, along with eight 9/11 families, sued to win public dissemination of the transmissions, as well as hundreds and hundreds of pages of transcribed oral histories.

and then what happened?

A breathtaking listen. The Manhatten dispatcher was truly amazing. Hate how the transmissions were completely cut off at the end, leaving us stranded wondering what happened to the captain trapped in the rubble. I wanted to hear more.
