Thoughtful Insight
Revisado: 11-06-24
I enjoyed listening to the human side of a comic whose work I have enjoyed for years. It was both poignant and inspiring while being presented with humor found in unexpected moments.

Enjoyable light listen.
Revisado: 08-02-24
After listening to a variety of books with complicated story lines and characters where you need a flow chart track, it was an enjoyable hour of straight forward mystery.
The performances a perfect blend of various English accents without being overly dramatic.

Puts me to sleep
Revisado: 01-19-24
If the idea of a bedtime story is to help you fall asleep, this one will. I’ve listened to it several times now and have yet to make it to the end.
The melodic tone of John Stamos voice is perfect for this type of story.

I’m too old to stay up this late
Revisado: 02-10-23
The completion of this story isn’t in the solving of the case. That happened around 12:30 am. It ties up everything so well. The storylines, the characters fates, and leaves you with a sense of a whole place & time in history. Then after hearing the author’s notes, so many more things come into focus. Which occurred at 3:00am.
You don’t need to read the series but now I have been sucked into the lives of these people. I must go on….

Historia
Eleanor, the charming manager of a cozy tea shop, enjoys the transportive ritual of making a cup of Masala Chai tea, reminisces about the tea's origins, and delights in the beauty of her quaint English village during the holidays. Bedtime stories are narrated by the world's most celebrated voices and written with no beginning, middle, or end so you don't stay up to hear what happens next. They're interesting enough to give your mind something to focus on, but delivered in a way that encourages sleep.

Enjoyable tale of magical beings
Revisado: 10-30-22
Nice series to listen while traveling. I usually hate anything romantic but it was kept to a minimum and only used to advance the storyline. The characters were well written and the narrator gave them life without going overboard trying to give them voices. I have already bought the next section of books to see where thing go next.

Great book for accepting a loss
Revisado: 10-04-22
I had lost a loved one unexpectedly and was having a difficult time accepting that my phone wasn’t going to ring or there wouldn’t be a comforting hug waiting the next time I walked through the door. The story covered many of the same feelings about that loss in a short format.
Ms Redgrave showed again why she is one of the truly great actresses. It was like listening to your grandmother quietly giving advice to help you move forward instead of the usual clinical synopsis provided by so many. I have listened to the story several times. Each one lets me know that I am not the only person who has thought they were crazy for waiting for that love one’s voice on the phone.

Too much filler
Revisado: 03-21-22
The story of Tamika and the issue of how people of color are overlooked by law enforcement and media was insightful. However, there was a too much repetition of facts and musical interludes. Over 10 minutes in one podcast was strange music with only an occasional word or phase. It would be much more effective if it had been fewer episodes with a concise storyline.

Revisado: 10-03-20
After reading the Sean Duffy series I was hesitant about starting another of McKinty’s books that was so different. However, after the first few minutes of Gerard Doyle’s lilting narration of the story line, I was hooked all over again.
