Amazing series. Well written, fluid, and entrancing.
Revisado: 04-11-25
This book series starts at the beginning of the outbreak, with a character that most people can identify with. The virtual voice that reads it is at times incorrect in its emotion, exclamation, or word pronunciation – but it doesn’t change the story outline at all.
The characters are people that you can relate to, the storyline is something that feels plausible, the ending is obvious but still open ended.
This is easily a series you would want to purchase on Audible to listen to, it is my second time through the series – and I think about it often. I would love to hear a series 45 and six for this group of chronicles.

You become connected to the characters without realizing. Very fluid experience!
Revisado: 04-08-25
The chapters and storyline is very fluid, easily understood, you become connected to the characters, the fighting chapters aren’t too long and there’s a balance between everyday living by the characters and climactic fighting chapters.

There are three phases to a zombie apocalypse... run... hide...fight. Billy was there right at the beginning when the first victim coughed over their lunch. Amanda was working as a nurse at the E.R. and Samantha was about to meet the cult behind the whole outbreak. Professor Preston, head of the CDC, tried to rally the forces of science, but found himself awaiting his execution in a junkyard. The list of characters grows as they run, hide, and learn to fight, not just the growlers, but the forces that unleashed them. The government tried nuking the growlers, but that just spread the ...

Where is the rest of the series?!
Revisado: 04-23-24
I am on my second time listening to this audiobook, I wish there were the entire series on audible, I really enjoyed the storyline, but the part about the cult was silly and ridiculous. I skipped every chapter with that.
Please post the second book in this series so I have more to listen to while working great book!

Terrible reading performance, decent story
Revisado: 12-15-23
It's hard to tell on the second book if it's the readers performance is as terrible as it is, or if the books are written poorly and the reader is trying to make the books more interesting.
Everything is read with a sense of impending doom, from putting shoes on, opening an email, making a call to basic conversation between characters. Even the most mundane moments are fraught with a sense of doom. It's agonizing to listen to constantly.
The stories themselves are very good, some dialog is iffy, but over all I would listen again if only for a different reading performance. Beresford is not a great narrator.

Historia
In December 1975, the Lutz family moved into their new home on suburban Long Island. George and Kathleen Lutz knew that, one year earlier, Ronald DeFeo had murdered his parents, brothers, and sisters in the house, but the property - complete with boathouse and swimming pool - and the price were too good to pass up. This is the shocking true story of an American dream that turned into a nightmare beyond imagining for the Lutz family, who were forced to flee their new home in terror.

One of the best books I’ve listen to so far.
Revisado: 11-13-23
With so few free good books on audible, it took me a few days to find this one. I’m very glad to have happened upon it, and spent the time listening to it. Generally, the story is not something I would care to listen to - but given my long days, I figured why not.
The person who read the story did an astounding job and the story itself was written, so well that I was eager to continue listening, and looked forward to getting off of the few phone calls. I got during my listening time.
If you find yourself out of credits, and looking for a good listen. This is the one. I will gladly listen to this one again!
