There are several things I've always known growing up as the alpha's daughter. The most important ones being: My twin brother Cord was the perfect choice as successor to our father. Mostly because I wanted nothing to do with being an alpha-in-training. I had the best friends a girl could ever ask for: Cord and Augie.

Leaving my husband was hard. Trying to face the world alone with my teenage daughter is the sort of thing nightmares are made of, but I caught a break. My best friend just hired me for a great job, with perks like a rent-free house right beside not just one handsome man, but five! Each one is hotter than the last, and all of them seem interested in me. But everyone around us has these strange golden eyes...and there are the questions no one will answer. And who cares if there's a lot of wildlife running around at night? I do, especially when a wolf keeps sneaking into my backyard.

Great story but OMG!!
Revisado: 04-07-22
They story is a great one, basically. I can see promise in the rest of the series. But four ( yes 4) back to back chapters of nothing but sex? Give me a break! I'm no prude and have no problem with a little sex thrown in a story but four chapters back to back is too much. I wants a story, not a sex novel. It's practically a short story all by itself ! I wanted to know about the story line. What was happening with the girl and her boyfriend ( because we knew something was going to happen) and when was the ex going to read his ugly self again? And how well could they integrate into the community? That's the story, not a blow by blow of Mama's sex experience. Will I buy the rest of the series? I'm not sure. Like I said, the basic story is good, the narration is great! I'll have to think about it.

Great Narration
Revisado: 03-31-22
The book was good. I read the entire series. The main character and her daughter kept me frustrated with their poor decision making. Given the choices they made, they should have died early in the story. There were some obvious inaccurate statements, but I think that was just a lack of experience in the writer's part about survival.
I was VERY impressed with the Narrator! Great timing, great diction and surprisingly good at changing the voices up. I'll look for more of her narrations.

More great story
Revisado: 01-29-20
This is a continuation of a great series. A story of struggle and endurance. While some may believe in the belief that you protect family first no matter then love displayed among the survivors.
And, as ever, Kevin Pierce is the best narrator ever, especially at this type of story.

Hi, I'm Alexis Delaney. I'm your average 17-year-old girl. Except I can see the dead. And talk to the dead and help them move on. So...okay, I'm not your average 17-year-old girl. Right now, the Veil is shut off, and the Way is closed. Which means the dead can't move on, so, they are camping out on my lawn. I'm trying to open the Way, juggle school and, well, deal with my feelings for two of my best friends.

Much better storyline
Revisado: 09-26-19
I have come to realize that these books are about teenage angst and the Veil storyline is second. That being said, the story is current and believable. We find our girls falling for three different guys at the same time after her breakup with Dillon. Having raised 5 teenagers I can tell you this happens more than you would think. The only thing I don't like is that the story is not concluded and that means having to purchase the next one. These books are not stand alone novels. But this book was well written and narrated. If you like reading about teenage love with a little bit if a ghost story added in , you will enjoy this series.

My name is Alexis Delaney, and I'm your average 17-year-old girl. Except I'm a Necromancer. Which means I can see the dead, talk to them, and help them move on. Well, I used to be able to. Someone has sealed the Veil. Now the dead are stuck here. And with the extra energy floating around town, the ghosts are getting stronger. It's been two months since I came to Spring Mountain to live with Uncle Rory. And the guys, my five best friends, have done everything they can to help since.

Too Much Angst
Revisado: 09-24-19
After listening to the first book, I felt the series had promise, so I bought this one. But this book spent more time on the teenage relationships than on the dead or the veil. The continuing theme of helping the dead was there, just not front and center. I haven't decided if I'll get another one. Probably will, just to see if it gets back on track. But if it doesn't, that will be it for me.
As before, the narration was spot on. No complaints about that.

Great Series
Revisado: 08-26-19
I am really enjoying this series. it shows just what could happen if things came unglued. I especially like that the author mentions various articles of importance when "bugging in" and how they helped his and his family's survival. I do want to mention to him though, in the Army, a 1st Sgt. is not called Sarge. He is called TOP. Other sergeants, such as a Sergeant First Class or Master Sergeant , may be called Sarge, but not the 1st Sergeant. Also, if your 1st Sergeant comes rushing in yelling get your weapons, or themotors, or whatever, an underling does not ask "Why ?". He jumps and does as he is told and asks questions later. Believe me, I know.
But, those are mistakes a civilian would make and do not take away from the story at all. The books in this series are exciting, emotional and thought provoking. I highly recommend you read each book in the series.

GREAT SERIES !
Revisado: 07-20-19
This are the ending books to the America Falls series. Book 4 picks up right where Book 3 ended. The characters continue on, meeting each crisis as it happens and making decisions that impact not only themselves but those they love and are now responsible for. And Scott Medbury is outstanding in showing how those young boys we met in Book 1 have grown and continue to mature into honorable men despite the harsh and unyielding times in which they are forced to live.
Adam Barr's narration is spot on , as ever. Each character is distinguishable and their personalities come through loud and clear.
The entire series is believable, given the times we live in and cause the reader to think about what may come tomorrow and question if they are ready to meet it. This series is highly recommended.
