I cannot believe I waited so long to read this series. I devoured caraval over the wknd and immediately jumped into this one. I highly recommend reading the caraval trilogy first. It will allow you to just jump right into the world the author built for us in that series and hit the ground running!!

It was supposed to be the perfect weekend away. Six very different women travel to a sun-soaked Greek island for a bachelorette trip, to celebrate Lexi’s upcoming wedding. From the glorious ocean views to the quaint tavernas and whitewashed streets, the vacation seems too good to be true. But dangerous undercurrents run beneath the sunset swims and midnight cocktails—because each of the women is hiding a secret. Someone is determined to make sure that Lexi’s marriage never happens—and that one of them doesn’t leave the island alive.

Fun thriller
Revisado: 04-17-25
This book was exactly what I was expecting. Some of it was predictable but I was okay with that. There is always going to be drama on a girls trip! There was relationship drama, friendship drama, pregnancies now and in the past, seriously so much was going on. The fact that the author wrote this in a way that I never felt confused or lost the plot is amazing on its own. I did not guess the ending which made it super fun. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun, drama filled thriller. I will be reading more from this author soon.

Amazing as always
Revisado: 04-04-25
It's Nora freaking Roberts.. Of course I gave this five stars. Unless you've been living under a rock for a few decades, you know who she is and how successful she is. This book was no surpise. Wonderful pacing, exceptional character development, great suspense, with a sprinkle of romance. She's got the perfect formula and I loved every minute of it.

Mediocre Thriller
Revisado: 03-31-25
I had high hopes for this one but it fell flat for me. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. The FMC got on my nerves all up till the very end of the book. Too many just dumb, unbelievable decisions. I just feel like this could've been so much better with some character growth and better pacing. Also the ending seemed super unbelievable as well. As always this is just my own personal opinion and I firmly believe there will be people that absolutely love this book, so please don't let my review dated you from giving it a shot!

Classic Horror
Revisado: 03-31-25
This was way better than I was expecting. Was like a movie playing out in my head. It was very graphic and descriptive. The author did an amazing job of setting the scene, often making me feel like I was part of the story. If it wasn't for the supernatural aspects, I could've believed it was real and not a tale of fiction. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author. The audio was fantastic and definitely added to the horror vibes!

Classic Vampire Tale
Revisado: 03-28-25
I really enjoyed this book!! I chose to do the audio and the narrator was phenemonal. I've listened to other books she's narrated and she's always done a great job.
I've been in my thriller/horror era lately and this book didn't disappoint. I feel like this embodies what a horror book should be like and reminded of the horror I grew up reading. I could see this as a movie playing out in my head as I listened. The author did a great job creating characters as well as a setting that kept me interesting and needing to know what was going to happen next and how it was going to end. There were a few twists tossed in that made for an even more interesting and exciting journey. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves horror or even just a classic vampire thriller.

Great Pacing!
Revisado: 03-06-25
This is my first Kara Thomas book and it will definitely not be my last. There was a lot going on with this story, and there was never a time I felt confused or lost. The author did an amazing job of maintaining the pace and keeping me intrigued. Plenty of bread crumbs dropped along the way, along with plenty twists and turns. I had to pick my jaw up off the floor a few times, the biggest being at the end. In fact my jaw is still on the floor while I type this. I guarantee this book will be living rent free in my head for awhile. In fact I plan to make sure more folks read this, so that I can discuss it with them. I felt some of the wild antics done by the characters perfectly walked the line between believable drama and over the top drama. I seriously feel like this was something that could've been "ripped from the headlines". I will be recommending this to all my mystery and thriller lovers!

This was a great sci-fi thriller. Part of the reason it was so good is because I could see it really happening in our society. Little too close to home.
