Historia
Iraq War veteran Kelton Jager and his ex-military working dog Azrael have evaded Virginia law enforcement and slipped across the state line into North Carolina where they’ve been passing the winter in seaside Pony Beach, laying low, and doing odd jobs for an aging widow. A spate of gruesome murders and a teen girl’s abduction then coaxes Kelton to his civic duty of assisting the small sheriff’s department with desperately needed K-9 support. However, the longer and closer Kelton and Azrael work with the lawmen, the more Sheriff Boxer and his posse ask uncomfortable questions of ...

It was supposed to be easy...it turned out to be murder. In the thrilling start to the Trask Brothers Murder Mystery Series, identical twin brothers Dave and Don hunt a silent killer terrorizing anglers in the great north woods. "Spellbinding! I could not put it down. It will keep you on the edge all the way to the end." When Dave Trask ran for sheriff of wild Lake County, he thought the job would entail locating lost campers and catching poachers, and he didn’t really expect to get elected. He was wrong on both counts. Before he can be sworn in, two guests at a small fishing lodge are ...

I don't enjoy virtual voice, it takes the passion out of the story. The story was engaging.

Historia
Breed, a Delta Force veteran, is surprised when he is called to meet an old acquaintance—CIA agent Anya Stein. She offers Breed a mission he can't refuse—to rescue an American soldier, Robyn Trainor, held captive in the mountains of Afghanistan. When the mission goes sideways, the Taliban hunt Breed and Robyn over some of the harshest terrain on the planet—thousand-foot cliffs, wailing wind, and freezing nights. It's a landscape from hell, every bit as lethal as the killers chasing them.

Graphic description of the area and operators
Revisado: 08-16-24
To start, I enjoyed the author's orientation of the terrain. The story is graphic with the violence committed, but it was important to show the ruggedness and reality of conflict in a beautiful and unforgiving space.
Character development was good and I enjoyed the lead operator and supporting cast. Overall, I recommend the book with consideration as stated above, and would read other books by the author and strong narrator.

The explicit nature of thr story
Revisado: 08-03-24
I enjoyed the investment and the attentiveness of the relationship. I find the reason for the failure of the marriage a little over the too. Sometimes relationships don't work for lesser reasons without the extensive fault blamed on one partner. I also tired of the perfect sex and continuous female expression of her pleasure. It was overdone.

Historia
The summer of 1833 has been one of brazen heat and brutal pestilence, as the city is stalked by Bronze John - the popular name for the deadly yellow fever epidemic that tests the healing skills of doctor and voodoo alike. Even as Benjamin January tends the dying at Charity Hospital during the steaming nights, he continues his work as a music teacher during the day. When he is asked to pass a message from a runaway slave to the servant of one of his students, January finds himself swept into a tempest of lies, greed, and murder that rivals the storms battering New Orleans.

Historia
This lush and haunting novel tells of a city steeped in decadent pleasures and of a man, proud and defiant, caught in a web of murder and betrayal. It is 1833. In the midst of Mardi Gras, Benjamin January, a Creole physician and music teacher, is playing piano at the Salle d'Orleans when the evening's festivities are interrupted - by murder. The ravishing Angelique Crozat, a notorious octoroon who travels in the city's finest company, has been strangled to death.
