Historia
In the near future, when America has become a police state, 100 boys are selected to enter an annual contest where the winner will be awarded whatever he wants for the rest of his life. Among them is 16-year-old Ray Garraty, and he knows the rules - keep a steady walking pace of four miles per hour without stopping. Three warnings and you're out - permanently.

Good story, odd narration.
Revisado: 06-24-24
The story itself is interesting and the characters, the only reason to stick around, are interesting. My main gripe with this audiobook however is the narration. There will be very clear and distracting cutoffs of words, sentences, descriptions and they are littered in every other chapter. I went back more then once, worried I'd accidently fast forwarded 30 seconds or my headphones had an odd stutter, but no, the narration just cuts off mid-sent

Good book, meh hook.
Revisado: 05-06-24
I enjoyed the book, but there was a few odd hiccups in audio like being able to hear intakes of breath or odd pronunciation of words. Nothing immersion breaking, but not quite as good as the first. the actual card game mechanic I just felt no real interest in despite being an avid card gamer. DCC has been fantastic at foreshadowing and hiding information, but when someone just busts out a card no-one knew existed, it's not exciting, i just got a feeling of "ah, so that can happen I suppose".
That all said, I have greatly enjoyed the series and will be grabbing the next ones as they are available.

Historia
As management reels from the unexpected conclusion of the seventh level, the surviving crawlers stumble onto the eighth and find themselves scattered. It’s a map based on Earth’s final days before the collapse, where ethereal, intangible ghosts of humanity go about their lives, oblivious of the impending doom. Living amongst these ghosts are monsters based in Earth lore. “Legendary” creatures tied to the geographical location they inhabit. Each team of crawlers is given a task: Find and capture six of these beasts.

Historia
Waking up in a theme-park world run amok was a bit rough. But leveling up to be an epic hero, seizing a mountain of treasure, and romancing a bevy of beauties isn't too bad. My name is Danny Abbott. I went to bed thinking I had just another day at the office waiting for me. Instead, I find myself in Dungeon World, a planet-wide RPG-themed amusement park. The monsters are real, the perils are deadly, and the people in charge are long since gone.

Fun story, bland characters, odd narrator choices.
Revisado: 11-29-23
The story itself is pretty fun, and does what you'd expect of a LitRPG. The characters however are fairly bland, you have "horny and greedy" and "secretly horny and shy" as harem members, and a main character who is told to his face multiple times how amazing he is. His only traits being "nice and in love", generally speaking.
The narrators do a solid job and read at a good pace, but have some odd line reads, a chuckle is acted as a girlish giggle or a "growl" is more excited then menacing. nothing too distracting, besides the line reads of "glitchs" which is reading overlaid with a single sound effect and someone actually just saying "glitch".
Good progression of character power, I'll be giving the second book a try, but may stop there if the ideas in this one aren't expanded on.

Historia
Bobby Pendragon is a seemingly normal 14-year-old boy. He has a family, a home, and even Marley, his beloved dog. But there is something very special about Bobby: he is going to save the world.
And not just Earth as we know it. Bobby is slowly starting to realize that life in the cosmos isn't quite what he thought it was. And before he can object, he is swept off to an alternate dimension known as Denduron, a territory inhabited by strange beings, ruled by a magical tyrant, and plagued by dangerous revolution.

Narrator can be rough, but fun story.

The narrator can occasionally be a bit nasally when voicing Bobby. His female voices are also samey and not very well done. It does capture a teenage boys tone and inflection quite well though!

Her name is Annie Wilkes, and she is more than a rabid reader - she is Paul's nurse, tending his shattered body after an automobile accident. But she is also furious that the author has killed off her favorite character in his latest book. Annie becomes his captor, keeping him prisoner in her isolated house. Well read and good book.
Revisado: 06-02-22
Overall I loved the book and will return to it. I just wish the ending didn't quite drag out as much as it did, thought I understand the intent behind it. The storyteller also had a soothing voice and made it quite easy to tell what characters were speaking.
