Precipitously
Revisado: 04-04-25
Like the premise and the narration by RC Bray is superb as always. However, hastily, hurriedly, and rashly are some words that could be used instead of precipitously for the 10th time.

Historia
July 25, 2234: The crew of the Adamura discovers the Anomaly. On the seemingly uninhabited planet Talos VII:a circular pit, 50 kilometers wide. Its curve not of nature, but design. Now, a small team must land and journey on foot across the surface to learn who built the hole and why. But they all carry the burdens of lives carved out on disparate colonies in the cruel cold of space. For some the mission is the dream of the lifetime, for others a risk not worth taking, and for one it is a desperate attempt to find meaning in an uncaring universe.

Missing a Story Line
Revisado: 05-26-23
Loved the first book in this universe. enjoyed the story arc, liked the detail and background on the characters but unlike this book there was substance to the story. it progressed and had an arc with great original sci-fi ideas. this book was almost completely comprised of background character detail. Wondering if the author was working through some sort of loss. There is so much potential in this universe and the authors ability. unfortunately this book fell short.
the narration was excellent so even though the story was disappointing it was actually enjoyable to listen to. not a huge fan of the extra audio effects.

Maybe better to read not listen?
Revisado: 12-31-22
I normally enjoy Simon R Green writing and have listened to a number of audiobooks written by him, however I just couldn't get into this one. The thing that really tripped me up was the cadence of the performer. I couldn't get past the weird drawl on the last word of most sentences. The story wasn't interesting enough for me to push past that annoyance.

Historia
Hundreds of years ago, the last humans on Earth boarded the Exodus Fleet in search of a new home among the stars. After centuries spent wandering empty space, their descendants were eventually accepted by the well-established species that govern the Milky Way. But that was long ago. Today, the Exodus Fleet is a living relic, the birthplace of many, yet a place few outsiders have ever visited. As many Exodans leave for alien cities or terrestrial colonies, those who remain are left to ponder their own lives and futures.

No Plot, boring characters.
Revisado: 02-03-22
Disappointed! The author did a good job describing things and fleshing out the universe a bit more. However, there was no story line worth anything. I feel like it was a book put together from the scraps of side characters from other books or ideas. Though one of the characters from the first book was mentioned in this book, it had absolutely nothing to do with either of the first two books.

Finally an new story line in a sci-fi novel
Revisado: 10-10-21
Really pleased with both the story and narration. I enjoyed the originality and detail throughout. I hope he can expand on this universe or at least write more in this genre.

Good Start to a New Series
Revisado: 06-17-21
I really liked the concept and plot. I think this has the potential to be a great series. This first book leaned towards young adult in the writing style (not that there is anything wrong with that) but there are some underlying concepts that pull it towards mature science fiction.
I was a bit surprised by the choice of a male narrator as the central character is female but I think he did a really good job with his cadence and accents. There are several view points from a male perspective and he did those really well.
This has the potential to be a fascinating universe and I'm eager to see where they take it. Overall very enjoyable.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

I really enjoyed this.
Revisado: 05-20-21
Though some of the themes were similar to the martian, lone survivor with no real possibility of survival, I found the ideas and direction this book took to be unique. It is hard these days to find a new idea presented well in science fiction. Worth the read it listen.

Historia
He was Tiger, born of the desert winds, raised as a slave and winning his freedom by weaving a special kind of magic with a warrior's skill. Now he was an almost legendary sword-dancer, ready to take on any challenge - if the price was right…or if the woman pretty enough. She was Del, born of ice and storm, trained by the greatest of Northern sword masters. Now, her ritual training completed and steeped in the special magic of her own rune sword, she had come South in search of the young brother stolen five years before.

loved the book as a teen
Revisado: 12-31-20
this was one of my favorites was a pre-teen and was excited to find it as an audiobook. unfortunately, the narrator was poorly chosen. I'm sure he is great for other characters just not this one. I would love to hear this read by RC Bray.
