Historia
It is the morning after the storm. Thick fog covers everything. In the stifling, claustrophobic atmosphere, Howie and his group head out for supplies. Skirmishes and tense fights take place and there are messages left in blood at key sites: 'he's coming'. As the day progresses, Howie becomes increasingly darker in thought, and more demanding of his team. By the end of the day they have discovered a munitions factory, but can Howie hold it together?

Narrator Change Up
Revisado: 12-02-24
If you've been blazing through the series, expect a massive change within the dynamics of the group and characters. What a difference a narrator can make. It's not that he is terrible, well, overall anyway, but it's just not the same. It took a while into the next book that he narrates, to even adjust to the different voices, and the change up to Dave, as others have pointed out, is just plain wrong. After the 1st ten with another narrator and thinking his spin on the characters was really good, it was just hard to figure out who the hell was who, and to make Dave sound like that, is once again is just plain wrong. I'm still enjoying the series, but it's a lot rougher with this new narrator. Anyway Good Luck with the decision. Cheers!

The starship Earthling, filled with thousands of hibernating colonists en route to a new world at Tau Ceti, is stranded beyond the solar system when the ship's three organic mental cores—disembodied human brains that control the vessel's functions—go insane. The emergency skeleton crew sees only one chance for survival: build an artificial consciousness in the Earthling's primary computer that can guide them to their destination—and hope it doesn't destroy the human race.

Destination Boring & Void!
Revisado: 09-10-24
Narrator was good.
I just didn't click with him as others.
Sometimes with these kind of stories, I ask myself if I would enjoy better if I read the actual book. sometimes the answer is, yes, I probably would, but in this instance I'd probably find it still very boring.
I gave it a 3 overall, but part of that is the name of the author.
I usually enjoy his books overall, but this one is a bore.
some will find this book great and that's
expected, but for me very boring and void.
Good luck with the decision. Cheers!

Historia
Iron Man chronicles the story of both pioneering guitarist Tony Iommi and legendary band Black Sabbath, dubbed "The Beatles of heavy metal" by Rolling Stone. Iron Man reveals the man behind the icon yet still captures Iommi's humor, intelligence, and warmth. He speaks honestly and unflinchingly about his rough-and-tumble childhood, the accident that almost ended his career, his failed marriages, personal tragedies, battles with addiction, bandmates, famous friends, newfound daughter, and the ups and downs of his life as an artist.

Overall enjoyed.
Haven't listened to Ozzy's yet, but have listened to Gizzard's book.
From those two, the stories of early are similar.
Hopefully,Bill will have a memoir soon as well.
The Narrator read great it was his mic picking up things you don't want to hear and was sometimes distracting.
Going to listen to Ozzy's now,
Good Luck.

Historia
Arkady and Boris Strugatsky are widely considered the greatest of Russian science fiction masters, yet the novel they worked hardest on, the one that was their own favorite and that listeners worldwide have acclaimed their magnum opus, has never before been published in English. The Doomed City was so politically risky that the Strugatskys kept its existence a secret even from their closest friends for 16 years. It was only published in Russia during perestroika in the late 1980s, the last of their works to see publication.

The Experiment Is The Experiment
Revisado: 07-17-24
Okay ,where to begin.
I really wanted to enjoy this book, but just kept getting lost. Don't know if it was my attention span or the narrator. The narrator himself read well, but I just didn't click with him. His accents keep getting me confused on who was who, as the accents were close to being the same for some of the characters. Some of it could have been my attention span as well, cause one minute it in the middle of this and then they have moved on to something else. I think this audiobook could be better with another narrator that could have a better distinction between accent and character or a group of narrators as there are a abundance of characters throughout the book. I feel like in general I might have gotten a better grasp of the story itself if I had read an actual physical copy of the book. Anyway, good luck with the decision.

What is VALIS? This question is at the heart of Philip K. Dick's groundbreaking novel, the first book in his defining trilogy. When a beam of pink light begins giving a schizophrenic man named Horselover Fat (who just might also be known as Philip K. Dick) visions of an alternate Earth where the Roman Empire still reigns, he must decide whether he is crazy or whether a godlike entity is showing him the true nature of the world.

Religious Madman or Just Religious?
Revisado: 03-19-24
Narrator did a good job
The story itself is good..
Even though I was lost at times, I enjoyed it
The relationship with one's self and in this case another within one's self (being the same person as the first)looking for a reason for answers within the fault of religion. I'm not an expertise on synopsis or have a recognition of a critic, so if you're looking for that, I have to say sorry. Overall, I can say that I enjoyed it. There is a story here, but it also is a thought provoke of idealisms around Horseface with Phil and friends.
What ever is your decision good luck!

Historia
Robert A. Heinlein wrote The Number of the Beast, which was published in 1980. In the book Zeb, Deety, Hilda, and Jake are ambushed by the alien "Black Hats" and barely escape with their lives on a specially configured vehicle (the Gay Deceiver) which can travel along various planes of existence, allowing them to visit parallel universes. However, unknown to most fans, Heinlein had already written a "parallel" novel about the four characters and parallel universes in 1977.

Narrators themselves were fine
Problem was you get used to one with their take on the characters and then have to listen to another with their take on a character
Seems they would just let the others read the lines in the other ones entry/story
Story itself was fine
Probably would have enjoyed the story better if actually read myself
Like others with Heinlein audio books(sometimes even reading with one's self) it started kinda rough
Overall I did enjoy it, or eventually as it got better with the story
Good Luck

Historia
A millennium into the future two advancements have altered the course of human history: the colonization of the galaxy and the creation of the positronic brain. Isaac Asimov's Robot novels chronicle the unlikely partnership between a New York City detective and a humanoid robot who must learn to work together. Like most people left behind on an over-populated Earth, New York City police detective Elijah Baley had little love for either the arrogant Spacers or their robotic companions.
