It’s Abby Craden
Revisado: 08-14-24
Like she can read a shopping list (and probably would do it in 1/37 unique voices she can conjure) and I will give the performance 5 stars. She’s just that good. Having said that… did Sierra’s voice change at the end? She definitely sounded more soft butch at the beginning and then femme at the end..
The tension between the 2 MC is also really hot. Office romance or forced proximity troupe is there but so much drama around it. I wish the age gap thing wasn’t pushed so hard or was the central point in every conversation in nearly every chapter.

Historia
With the arrival of Courtney Carrington, Margaret's youth sparked into color. But first loves can scar. Margaret hasn't seen Courtney in years and that's for the best. But when Courtney loses her father and returns to Tanner Peak to take control of the family store, Margaret comes face-to-face with her past and the woman she's tried desperately to forget. The fact that Courtney has grown up more beautiful than ever certainly doesn't help matters.

Good story, just that narrator…
Revisado: 06-30-24
The story is angsty and not at all bad. Usually I avoid any story with this narrator because intimate scenes probably sound better with Siri. The tones and inflections are all over the place. But because the book was good and I wanted to continue the story on my commute I caved. I regret using the credit only because of the narrator.

Storytelling and Narration better than the 1st book
Revisado: 06-05-24
I bought this audiobook because I wanted to finish the series, but was not anticipating the cringey narration of the first book. To my surprise there was no awkward moaning of “Keir.” The intimate scenes are also so much hotter than in the first book. I think it has a lot to do with the author’s much improved writing skills and the narrator being more experienced and comfortable with those scenes.
Either way, this audiobook was leaps and bounds better than the first.

Imagine you friend zoned the hottest person on the planet
Revisado: 03-28-24
What did you like or dislike?
This story is definitely well written. The ever talented Haley Cass has written yet another very beautiful friends-to-lovers story. Imagine “Notting Hill” meets “Friends with Benefits”.
The story is overall fun and explores this beautiful friendship between two very different people. It also shows great character development for the two friends. The ignorance of Gianna’s existence by her narcissistic family is heartbreaking. Riley’s duty and loyalty to her family in the absence of her late father is also touching.
I’m a bit peeved at and also endeared by how unrealistic the situation is though. Riley is described as this average girl with fluctuating weight who essentially puts this mega influencer built like a goddess in the friend zone for a decade! Kind of ridiculous, but I suppose that’s the whole point?
And it’s Lori Prince. *mic drop*

I cross the tracks every day for one reason - to graduate from this school and get into the Ivy League. I'm not ashamed of where I come from, my family, or how everyone at Marymount thinks my skirts are too short and my lipstick is too red. Clay Collins and her friends have always turned up their noses at me. The witch with her beautiful skin, clean shoes, and rich parents who torments me daily and thinks I won't fight back. At least not until I get her alone and find out she's hiding so much more than just what's underneath those pretty clothes.

I really wanted to hate this story, but….
Revisado: 02-22-24
Confession: my wife made me read the book and I got the audible after because house chores. Before starting on this book, I read other reviews and summaries of this book I was horrified. Clay was overtly cruel towards Olivia. Initially, I couldn’t imagine any type of friendship could arise from these two characters. As the story progressed it became obvious that it was an unhealthy relationship. The only thing that kept me reading/listening was Clay’s inner monologue about her relationship with her family and Olivia’s inner monologue about her relationship with her brothers. I was really put off by her unhealthy obsession with Olivia.
As the characters developed I started to understand that Clay is the classic bully because of other bullies or trauma from her home. Having dealt with my own bully now friend, I started to understand her violent outbursts. The story is a rollercoaster of emotions. My stomach is still recovering from the swooping

Lori Prince is the Best!
Revisado: 02-10-24
At this point I’ve listened to 80% of Lori’s available work on Audible. I can tell when she’s into the story or going through the motions. This story is definitely one she put more effort into.
I’m giving this story 4 stars. Although well written I can’t help but think this is just a carbon copy of another well known book in this genre by another author.
I do wish there was a bit more of a twist to spice up the story itself.

That was a worth-it marathon
Revisado: 12-14-23
TJ’s vivid descriptions of this broken, civil war ridden, chaotic world is amazing. This is not like other audiobooks I have that I can just play in the background whilst doing chores or work. I often had to rewind and listen again or pause and pull out my kindle to follow along. It’s admittedly, long so it was a bit frustrating to have to stop what I’m doing to make sense of what is going on for several days. However, it was 100% worth it. The language, details, the individual stories, the romance are incredible.
The narrator was pretty good. Most of the characters had their individual voices and presence. She slips/ mixes up voices which isn’t abnormal for narrators, but I will say it happens a lot more than what I’m used to.
I would recommend waiting until vacation/holiday to listen to this story. Missing out on even a few seconds of detail equals to missing crucial information.

Needs a sequel
Revisado: 08-26-23
This is definitely not my typical genre, but good lord was it delicious. It’s a story about that fated, all encompassing, inspiring, beautiful kind of love between two beings that are literally star cross lovers.
Also surprisingly a tear jerker as sacrifices are made for the other partner.
My only complaint is that the next in the series is not featuring this couple. There needs to be a sequel!!! Please?

But Oakes doesn't get a say in policy, she only has to secure the president's safety - at all costs.

The story is fine, but the why the narrator?
Revisado: 08-01-23
I made the mistake of buying the whole series without looking at the narrator of each book. After I was spoiled with the incredible performance of Abby Craden for the first 5 books I didn’t think to look. I was expecting the the one woman Broadway like voice actress to continue in this book.
To my utter disappointment, it was not Abby Craden. Trying to get through the book was very hard with lack of depth in the character expressions I became accustomed to the first 9 books. I just had to push through the story at 2-3x speed.
At the time of purchase this audiobook was about the same cost to a newly released digital movie. This is a step up from a kindle read aloud but not much more than that.
The story is a bit scattered and doesn’t focus on the beloved couple in the beginning as much. However, the featured couple Ari and Oakes is very cute. I just had to buy the kindle version and sit to read it to retain it.
It is unlikely that this book will ever be re-recorded but here is to hoping that they consider it. Please bring back Abby Craden!!!

The first in the Honor series, Above All, Honor introduces single-minded Secret Service Agent Cameron Roberts and the woman she is sworn to protect - Blair Powell, the daughter of the President of the United States. Cam's duty is her life - and the only thing that keeps her from self-destructing under the unbearable weight of her own deep personal tragedy. Why did I do this?!
Revisado: 07-26-23
It’s Radclyffe and Abby Craden. It’s too perfect of a combo. I found Blair very unlikable at first because of her lack of consideration for her crew and love interest. However, Radclyffee builds her character to a point of understanding.
My only issue now is trying to save up enough money to buy the entire series.
