Historia
If the past is prologue - what if the prologue never happened? When a team of scientists attempts to rewrite history, the story of the present turns out to have an ending they didn’t see coming. Over and over.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Fun read!

Really good read from beginning to end. Andy has done it again. Perfect balance between handwavium and hard science.

Historia
The next big thing in artificial intelligence is here. Codenamed Cronus, the machine is capable of having its own thoughts and ideas - an absolute dream come true, until it wasn’t. When Cronus responds with the word “No” to a specific task it is assigned, Anagnorisis Technologies brings in Gilles Guattari to investigate. His combined background in psychiatry, psychology, and AI research makes him their best hope in evaluating Cronus, and determining if the machine is only malfunctioning or if it has become something more.

Such good promise in the beginning
Revisado: 03-16-20
Too much needless cursing and blasphemy. At one point I was ready to turn it off.
The story itself was decent the first half, but takes a completely different turn about halfway through.

Historia
In an apocalypse, there is definitely a beginning where mistakes are made and the seeds of evil are allowed to sprout and take shape. However, an end is not so certain. Once an apocalypse occurs, not even death is certain. Sometimes, death is only the beginning.

Terrible 😟
Revisado: 07-15-18
Wow, an overly written mess. I wanted a zombie book, not a book about scientists in a lab doing things that eventually lead to a zombie virus. And the narrator is just bad. Wish i could get a refund.

Historia
Already internationally acclaimed for his elegant, lucid writing on the most challenging notions in modern physics, Sean Carroll is emerging as one of the greatest humanist thinkers of his generation as he brings his extraordinary intellect to bear not only on the Higgs boson and extra dimensions but now also on our deepest personal questions. Where are we? Who are we? Are our emotions, our beliefs, and our hopes and dreams ultimately meaningless out there in the void?

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Amazing!
Revisado: 06-19-15
Wow, this was a really good listen. The narrator took some getting use to at first, but by the 4th chapter it was like listening to my own inner voice.
The only thing that disappointed me just a tad, was the ending left me wanting more. It felt a bit incomplete.
Another chapter dedicated to earth's reaction and what happened after the mission, would have made it perfect.
