Historia
After watching his asthmatic daughter suffer in the foul city air, Theodore Constantine decides to get back to the land. When he and his wife search New England for the perfect nineteenth-century home, they find no township more charming, no countryside more idyllic than the farming village of Cornwall Coombe. Here they begin a new life: simple, pure, close to nature - and ultimately more terrifying than Manhattan’s darkest alley.

Straightforward good book, well-written
Revisado: 10-13-20
74% of the book is a description of a lovely, cozy New England farming town. I almost forgot about the initial premise, that if a horror story.
It's dated, of course, and as much as it appears to have strong female characters, it also has a mysognistic tone. I really came to dislike Ned midday through the book. But, it was by no means bad - it was a simple, maybe slightly spooky book, with lovely nostalgic Autumn tones.

Sci-fi lite for newbies like me.
Revisado: 01-15-20
The story was entertaining and there were telepathic cats. Need I say more? I feel like this would best be represented as pulp fiction or a graphic novel.

I'm new to Sir Terry Pratchett's works, but he is an absolute master of whimsy and fun. Highly recommend for anyone needing a pick-me-up!

Historia
At first, it looks like a disease. An epidemic that spreads through no known means, driving its victims mad with memories of a life they never lived. But the force that’s sweeping the world is no pathogen. It’s just the first shock wave, unleashed by a stunning discovery - and what’s in jeopardy is not our minds but the very fabric of time itself. In New York City, Detective Barry Sutton is closing in on the truth - and in a remote laboratory, neuroscientist Helena Smith is unaware that she alone holds the key to this mystery...and the tools for fighting back.

Wonderful narrators, decent enough story
Revisado: 07-08-19
The build up to this story was amazing, and had me gripped; however, the resolution was a bit lacking and soft. It's worth a listen, but dont expect to feel satisfied at the end.

Historia
Beekman Place, once one of the most exclusive addresses in Manhattan, had a curious way of making it into the tabloids in the 1930s: SKYSCRAPER SLAYER, BEAUTY SLAIN IN BATHTUB read the headlines. On Easter Sunday in 1937, the discovery of a grisly triple homicide at Beekman Place would rock the neighborhood yet again - and enthrall the nation. The young man who committed these murders would come to be known in the annals of American crime as the Mad Sculptor.

Long, disheveled, poorly organized storytelling
Revisado: 03-17-19
I struggled to finish this book. Frankly, it's not organized in a way that would appeal to a true crime aficionado, as I've seen other reviewers state. I would go so far as to state that the book is so disheveled in its storytelling, that it reminds me of a child recounting a story in fits and starts.
I couldn't finish it, as even after reading 85% of the book, the author had exhausted my will to go on with unimportant nonsense and non-related stories. He could have take a page from Truman Capote on this one, as the story of the crime is fascinating. Alas, I preferred the read up on Wiki more than this book.

Historia
An utterly unsentimental journey toward the end of life, Mala is an irreverent exploration of how we live, cope, and survive in the moment. Grounded in Lopez’s distinctive emotional language and sharp humor, this powerful one-woman show dances between doctors and urgent 911 calls, a mother’s growing frailty, and a daughter’s quest for grace - all set during an epic Boston winter. Rather than depict a “right way”, the play opens the door for our universal struggle to support those we love in dying, especially when all we’ve ever focused on is surviving.

Revisado: 10-11-18
Frank Muller was such an amazing narrator, his voice was honey. Pat Conroy's imagery has immediately taken me in. His words are poetry, even through the dark subject matter, and he created a subliminal masterpiece. I look forward to reading more from him.

Stoneybridge is a small town on the west coast of Ireland where all the families know one another. When Chicky Starr decides to take an old, decaying mansion set high on the cliffs overlooking the windswept Atlantic Ocean and turn it into a restful place for a holiday by the sea, everyone thinks she is crazy. Helped by Rigger (a bad boy turned good who is handy around the house) and Orla, her niece (a whiz at business), Chicky is finally ready to welcome the first guests to Stone House’s big warm kitchen, log fires, and understated elegant bedrooms.

Absolutely delightful book, perfect light reading
Revisado: 09-07-18
I know a few reviewers felt this wasn't Maeve Binchy's best work. It's my first novel by her, and I was absolutely delighted by it. It's not a thought-provoking deep read, but it is lovely. I didn't mind the second act, where we delve into the lives of each character. The only character that I feel should have had more closure was Nell. But, I completely recommend it!
