Life-changing
Revisado: 05-08-19
Admittedly my marriage isn’t in trouble. But I really wanted some tips on how to be a better wife. I feel my husband is very patient and kind but me, not so much sometimes. I implemented Lysa’s changes and within ONE DAY my dear hubby was happier. He hugged me and told me what a great day he had. He doesn’t know what’s different, but I think he can tell our relationship is better. This book is like magic. Lysa’s advice is GOLD.

Historia
Fumio Sasaki is not an enlightened minimalism expert or organizing guru like Marie Kondo - he's just a regular guy who was stressed out and constantly comparing himself to others, until one day he decided to change his life by saying goodbye to everything he didn't absolutely need. The effects were remarkable: Sasaki gained true freedom, new focus, and a real sense of gratitude for everything around him.

Addicted to shopping? Can't throw stuff out? Read
Revisado: 04-24-19
This book is a more practical approach to letting go of "stuff." Much more practical than the KonMari method. Personally, I can't take a week of my life to sort through and throw away half of my possessions right now. I have young kids and a job. This book discusses more gradual and doable approaches to become minimalist - but also recommends the large purge method of KonMari for those who can do it.
I like how he gives you practical tips to get rid of stuff with an understanding and helpful tone. And he also discusses why we think we need so much stuff and how to change that mindset - I loved this part of the book. For years I've had a secret addiction to shopping, and while I wouldn't say it's out of control (I'm not in debt or anything), I know I need to stop buying things. This book is helping me to overcome this bad habit.
Even if you don't have a compulsive shopping problem, if you are surrounded by too much stuff, you need this book. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! P.S. the narrator is great.

One of the best books I’ve ever read
Revisado: 01-14-19
It sounds cliché but really every adult in the world should read this book. It is about so much more than saying no. It is about how to properly communicate with people and have respectful and productive relationships and interactions. It is an easy read with concrete examples and the narration is excellent. Really, if you are at all hesitating to read this book, just get it. You will not regret it. I finished it and actually want to read it again even though there are so many other books on my list. It’s that valuable that I feel like I want to memorize it.

There's no real, actionable advice here.
Revisado: 11-27-18
I wanted to like this book because I wanted a Christian/ Catholic perspective on parenting. And truth be told, I yell at my kids too much and lose my cool and I want to change. Unfortunately, this book simply makes you feel bad if you yell at your kids and simply tells you to stop doing it without any help in accomplishing this. Statements like choose love and calm yourself down are used multiple times. Well, duh. I already know I should choose love and calm myself down. I'm looking for real, concrete ways to accomplish this when we're in a tense situation. The advice in this book is like a friend coming up to you when you've lost your temper and are screaming at the top of your lungs, and they put their hand on your shoulder and say, now, just relax. Thanks, Captain Obvious. For actual, real advice that will help you through this difficult job we call parenting, I HIGHLY recommend Screamfree Parenting By Hal Runkel.

Historia
Are you happy? It may be the wrong question. Most of us think we are relatively happy, while at the same time knowing that we could be happier - maybe even a lot happier. Resisting Happiness is a deeply personal, disarmingly transparent look at why we sabotage our own happiness and what to do about it. Breaking through resistance, Kelly tells us, is essential to becoming the person that God created us to be. What is resistance? It's that sluggish feeling of not wanting to do something that you know is good for you.

Great book for Catholics and Christians
Revisado: 10-29-18
I am so glad I finished this book and was able to get it on Audible. It is truly inspirational. Matthew Kelly does an outstanding job with narrating, and his points about resistance are clear and simple to implement into our lives. I can’t wait to listen to more of Matthew Kelly’s books and use them in my daily life to become a better Catholic. If you’re looking for small, yet powerful ways to improve your life personally, spiritually, and professionally, try this book. The chapters are nice and bite sized and his messages are positive. Highly recommend this!
