OMG! AI and ChatGPT fail!
Revisado: 03-26-25
So apparently Barrett Williams has written hundreds of books using AI, ChatGPT and voice narration. Please Audible and authors ditch the voice narration it is really unpleasant to listen to. This book doesn’t even make its as a grade schoolers essay. Much of the information is questionable as is so much of AI generated information, which can send horse owners down the wrong not to mention dangerous path with their horses. It is very obvious that Mr. Williams has not had much exposure to horses. As a horse owner and credentialed Veterinary Technician I would not recommend this book. There are many other worthwhile books out there on Audible that are well worth a listen. One of my favorite books is Human Brain, Horse Brain by Janet L Jones, a great source of information that can be practically applied to our relationships with horses.

Historia
It's 1957, long before computers have replaced the skillful eye and hand, and our narrator at State U is determined to major in Art. After several false starts, he ends up by accident in a new class called "Introduction to Graphic Design," taught by the enigmatic professor Winter Sorbeck - equal parts genius, seducer, and sadist. Sorbeck is a bitter yet fascinating man whose assignments hurl his charges through a gauntlet of humiliation and heartache, shame and triumph, ego-bashing and enlightenment.

This was a fun listen!
Revisado: 10-16-22
The narration was fun. Maybe it was because of my short stint as an art student at an important art school that I could relate to the story and the narration brought it home. Many laughs of recognition.

Historia
Georgia O'Keeffe, one of the most original painters America has ever produced, left behind a remarkable legacy when she died at the age of 98. Her vivid visual vocabulary, sensuous flowers, bleached bones against red sky and earth, had a stunning, profound, and lasting influence on American art in this century.

Ageism
Revisado: 09-16-22
The author's focus on age was a bit much. Age is not a disease and one does not necessarily become infirm with advancing age.

Historia
As newspapers reported in the 1890s, a woman dubbed "Shakespeare" was found dead in a seedy hotel along the waterfront by Manhattan’s South Street Seaport. The chilling scene recalled for press and police alike Jack the Ripper’s victims in London. Panicked New Yorkers worked feverishly to halt that maniac’s spree from expanding across the Atlantic. The city only sighed relief after detectives abruptly arrested a traveling Algerian ex-soldier for the crime.

Did you know that most of our dinosaur fossils were discovered because two grown men absolutely hated each other? It’s true! Rivals! Frenemies Who Changed the World is a riotous audio exclusive, like if Monty Python taught your history class. Each volume of four 30-minute histories will dig into the petty name-calling and grumbling grudges that led to many of the world’s greatest advancements, all delivered with a cheeky sense of humor. Choose sides: Cope or Marsh, the jerks who discovered so many dinosaurs; Hamilton or Burr, whose rivalry fueled American politics; and many more....

Great idea for a story but so annoying!
Revisado: 08-12-19
The stories line is pretty good, I already knew the history of some of these conflicts, but the telling was just annoying. In the attempt to make it humorous and light it trivialized the history. Don't even get me started on Mary Queen of Scots speaking as a Valley Girl and the recurring sound effects of bombs and people dying was just eye rolling annoying.
