Historia
When a pilot suffers a heart attack at 35,000 feet, a commercial airliner filled with passengers crashes into a nuclear power plant in the small town of Waketa, Minnesota, which becomes ground zero for a catastrophic national crisis with global implications. The International Nuclear Event Scale tracks nuclear disasters. It has seven levels. Level 7 is a Major Accident, with only two on record: Fukushima and Chernobyl. There has never been a Level 8. Not Falling but typical TJ suspense
Revisado: 08-18-24
This is just a wonderful audio read. I loved Falling for it's non-stop suspense and wonderful good guy and bad guy characters. With WCS the enemy was a nuclear power plant disaster. For me it's a bit harder to hate the power plant much less the situation our heroes are placed in. I think in real life the Federal response would have much more robust with agencies like the USCG already on hand at the bridges and divers and a slew of professional experts deployed in minutes after the crash. This would have ruined the small town local heroes responsive involvement less critical to the story but more believable. That said TJ Newman never fails to add just the right amount of tension and bravado to keep you on the seat of your pants interested. I would read anything by TJN and have done so in her previous stories.

Historia
In 1984, a doomsday vault was constructed on a remote island in the Arctic Ocean. Its purpose was to preserve Earth's genetic history in the event of a global catastrophe. Now, decades later, a second vault has been uncovered, this one resting where no one ever expected. And the problem is it's not ours. Yet even more curious than the vault itself is what lies inside. Seeds. Millions of seeds. Each with a genetic embryo untouched and perfectly preserved. Waiting.

Chillingly engrossing
Revisado: 12-05-22
My first Ferencik book and it blew me away. While wonderfully written, I’m still not sure how the girl in ice survived her icy grave. However, all the twists and turns throughout the novel made this book a real page turner. Two brave heroines, the frozen beautiful allure of Greenland will keep you captivated.

Compelling story with lots of style and intrigue
Revisado: 10-08-20
Loved this unfortunately fictional account of the saving of the Twin towers. Loved the characters and can't wait to start Book 2 which promises to be as much of a cliff hanger as Book 1.

This Garden will not be Forgotten
Revisado: 04-18-20
I couldn't put this book down. The characters and story weaved in and and out from one generation to the next from 1907 - 2005. Bravo to Kate Morton! I am not done with your story telling. This book was compelling in showing the typical aristocracy and horrid poverty in early 20th century at it's worst in London. It's genius is how Ms. Morton brought to life the story teller Elisa in her children's fairy tales while intricately depicting the lives of four strong women. Caroline Lee's narrative performance was nothing shore to excellent. In fact, I will add her to my favorite list of narrators: Scott Brick, and Barbara Rosenblat and in reading more Kate Morton, hope she is included in future books I listen to by Kate Morton. From her Cockney accent to today's beautiful English and Aussie accents were wonderful kept me the listener drawn to the revealing story as it unfolded. Read on Caroline! You are spectacular in this beautiful piece of work

Great story...we Americans should
Revisado: 03-29-20
A book for the ages. Rich with the kind of bravery America needs today. A story of immense heart and self sacrafice in a time when there definitely wasn't "good people on both sides" as in our nation's experience in beautiful Charlottesville.
