"Todd grippingly conjures a what-if time-travel scenario that's unusually believable." (Kirkus)
"Time Tunnel: The Twin Towers is a wonderful piece of work with great actions scenes and a fantastic storyline that would be enjoyed by a wide audience." (Manhattan Book Review)
"The Twin Towers is a compelling, fascinating read that ends with the reader anxious for the sequel." (San Francisco Book Review)
September 10, 2001. Special Forces Major Kyle Mason is honeymooning at New York’s SoHo Grand Hotel with his bride, Padma Mahajan. The couple’s hotel is only a few hundred yards away from Padma’s place of work on the 105th floor of the World Trade Center’s North Tower.
When Padma steps out for coffee and a cigarette, a mysterious visitor enters the honeymoon suite, warning Kyle of an incomprehensible catastrophe that will result in the total destruction of the World Trade Center towers, killing his wife. The stranger enlists Kyle’s help to avert a disaster that will occur the following morning - on 9/11.
The first book in the Time Tunnel series, Time Tunnel: The Twin Towers, re-imagines 9/11 as a critical inflection point in time, the outcome of which the government determines must be altered in order to reverse the course of the American empire.

Todd can occasionally be derivative and overly bombastic to my taste, and certainly, there is some of that here. However, the strong characters, set against the action background ( in a variety of "creative" environments ) more than compensate.
Natalie Naudus does an outstanding job of bringing these large characters to life.
Overall, worth the credit and the time ( hah ) to start into a new time travel series. Recommended.
Solid start to a new time travel series.

I'm a sucker for time travel stories, so this was right up my alley. Time travel. Changing past events. Area 51 and conspiracy theories. Check. I enjoyed the story, and I look forward to picking up the sequel. It did start off slowly, with roughly half the book taken up with back story and character definition. I can't really decide how I feel about that. Perhaps more of that back story could have been woven into present-day, by which I mean 2008 Time Tunnel events, although that might have meant flashbacks, which would have maybe been more awkward? I can't make up my mind about that aspect. That aside, weaving actual events and UFO speculations and so forth into this story...well done. Does Richard Todd know something we don't? One wonders. The truth, as they say, is out there.
The narrator is all right. I'm not terribly picky about narrators, growing up as I did with audiobooks (before audiobooks were cool), and narrators that ranged from phenomenal to phenomenally bad. That said, there was something about this one. She has some unusual vocal mannerisms/ticks that distracted me a little. Nothing major, no huge deal. What bothered me more was the fake German accent, which bordered on sounding like a fake French accent. It just kind of grated a little, and I think doing away with it wouldn't have detracted from the storytelling in any meaningful way.
