Historia
Homeless and jobless, Fenn Todd has nearly run out of hope. All he has left are his longing for horses and the strength of his own two hands. But when he's cheated into accepting a very ugly sackcloth horse, he's catapulted into a world of magic, politics, and desire. Fenn's invited to stay at the black tower, home of the most terrifying man in the realm: Morgrim, the court sorcerer. Morgrim has a reputation as a scheming villain, but he seems surprisingly charming—and sexy—and Fenn falls hard. However, nothing is as it seems, and everyone at the tower is lying about something.

Sexy adulting

I loved that the main characters were such lovely people. They were in difficult situations but none of the plot was driven by unnecessary secrets or big misunderstandings. The relationship grew in a very natural way. A lovely book start to finish.

Historia
Alexei Lebedev’s journey on the Pacific Crest Trail begins with a single snake. And it is angling for the hot stranger who seemed to have appeared out of thin air. Lex is prepared for rattlesnakes, blisters, and months of solitude. What he isn’t prepared for is Ben Caravalho. But somehow—on a 2,500-mile trail—Alexei keeps running into the outgoing and charismatic hiker with golden-brown eyes, again and again. It might be coincidence. Then again, maybe there’s a reason the trail keeps bringing them together . . .

Sweet emotional journeys

I loved the pace of their relationship building. And the mirroring of that in the physical journey they were undertaking.

I enjoyed this whole series. And I found this book fun to listen to as usual. Until the end. I had read that someone said the end was cheesy. I figured I could live with that- I don't mind a little bit of cheesy.
I didn't expect to want to erase the ending from my head and spend several hours trying to rewrite it in my head into something that made some amount of sense. Other than that I really enjoyed it and if you've read the others it's hard not to want to see how it ends. Just be prepared for a completely ridiculous ending that seems to completely lack continuity with the rest of the series.
