Sooooo! Bad!
Revisado: 07-16-23
I did manage to finish this book. Full disclosure, it was at 2.0-3x speed. I knew this was YA but figured when a 60yo woman través back to her 13yo self that only a small part of the book would include her time as a 13yo. Nope. You can forget about the other 46.5 years. This book should be called “Teen Angst: Six months in the life of a 13yo girl”. Book was at least 20 hours too long. Also not appropriate for young teens. I think it set a new record for use of the F-word. I’m getting a refund.

Historia
With President Anthony Cook convinced that Mitch Rapp poses a mortal threat to him, CIA Director Irene Kennedy is forced to construct a truce between the two men. The terms are simple: Rapp agrees to leave the country and stay in plain sight for as long as Cook controls the White House. In exchange, the administration agrees not to make any moves against him. This fragile détente holds until Cook’s power-hungry security adviser convinces him that Rapp has no intention of honoring their agreement. To put him on the defensive, they leak the identity of his partner, Claudia Gould.

Not the Mitch Rapp I’ve grown to love over the years. Decent action but overall, meh.

Historia
Ryan Kealey now knows he'll never really put the game behind him. But now the game itself has changed. Between tense interagency "cooperation" that gums the works and an overreliance on data-crunching and wiz-kid tech, today's US intelligence service has lost a step to its ever-bolder, viciously adaptable global enemies. And thanks to an incredible discovery in the Arctic, those enemies now have a nuke - capable of unleashing unthinkable terror.

Disappointing
Revisado: 12-25-22
Big fan of Andrew Britton. Loved the first 5 Kealey books. This one was boring. And the constant over dubbing of either missed lines or corrections was distracting. Acoustics were so different as to be startling at times. Had I not already purchased and planned to read book 7, I would have requested a refund based on the audio alone.

They are coming. The countdown has begun. First visible only as blips on a telescope image, the discovery of objects approaching from Jupiter's orbit immediately sets humanity on edge. NASA doesn't even bother to deny the alien ships' existence. The popular Astral space app (broadcasting from the far side of the moon and accessible by anyone with Internet) has already shown the populace what is coming.

Flawed in sooooooo many ways
Revisado: 06-16-21
Where to start? It was hard to identify with any of the characters. It was hard to follow. It was hard to believe. It was hard to listen to, especially when narrator tried to do kid voices. I did finish listening to it, however, but only so I could write a truthful review. I have read/listened to over 500 similar books. Authors ranging from A-Z: Alanson, Baldacci, Battles, Bell, Berenson, Berry, Blackwood, Britton, Clancey, Coes....you get the idea. Will not be adding this author to my collection.

Lackluster in every way.
Revisado: 09-19-20
Almost as hard to follow as the first book in the series to start out. But at least I ended up really liking that one. Kinda like he had a glimmer of an idea and decided it wasn't enough for a story so he decided to pad it with background about his grandfather. And the narrator...don't get me started. Can't say he ruined it because the story wasn't very good to begin with, but he completely destroyed Stokely Jones, Jr.

Trying to make a political statement?
Revisado: 07-10-19
Have enjoyed reading other books in this series. I read everything, Baldacci, Coes, Eisner, Flynn, Greaney, Hilton, Silva, Thor, etc. I felt like the authors personal political bias was a bit too obvious. Either that or he is the best writer ever for making me think the opposite. I know that there is a lot of suspension of disbelief with these types of books but I’m looking for a good afternoons entertainment while sitting on the beach or just relaxing/vacationing. Some of the characters and their actions here bordered on farcical. Or was it just parody?
