Interesting in an odd way.

The story was good. only the whole thing lacked emotion and feeling. maybe this was due to the virtual narration. if so, I don't like it at all.

Historia
Ghosts don't exist in our world of today. Life is too pragmatic, too consuming, too busy for past lives to linger on longer than their allotted time, or so Halcyon had believed, until she received a letter from a lawyer claiming that her mother, whom she had thought long dead, had actually been living in another part of the country since Halcyon's early childhood. She had only recently passed away, leaving Halcyon heir to an unexpected fortune and an estate on an isolated island in the middle of the Great Lakes.

Entertaining enough.

The narration was good. The story was a little slow, but kept my interest. It was not one of those books that I just couldn't put down though.

Historia
Daniel Martin has never forgotten his childhood encounters with Frank Watkins, the man who built his family a summer home out of cardboard and plywood. Frank's gaze was oddly confusing, as if he was attempting to discern the proper way to behave because he didn't know how to respond in a human manner. Since Frank obviously wasn't an alien, young Daniel thought maybe the man was crazy. In the end, Daniel would learn the terrifying truth about Frank Watkins. And as an adult, Daniel is about to discover there are more of them out there.

OK I guess.

The story was good, but I had to quit reading it because the graphic descriptions became too disturbing for me. This is not the type of book I usually read. I had best go back to something a little less psychotic.

War with a twist.
Revisado: 06-21-21
Lots of fighting and battles against biologically transformed enemies trying to wipe out humans. The relationships between the characters was well developed and written. I really liked the story.
Probably not for everyone, but I hardly ever make it through a whole series without getting bored. I was not bored!
The narrator was a little hard to get used to because his voice was a little monotone. I quickly got used to this as it added a note of seriousness and "all business" to the story.
