Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Relatable and Reassuring
Revisado: 01-19-25
I've followed Richard Grannon's You Tube channel for a long time and have gained so much insight and assistance from his insightful content. I found this book incredibly helpful in so many ways. Only those who have delt with narcissism can truly understand. They are not simply mean or selfish people. It goes far deeper and is far more insidious and destructive for those who end up in these relationships. The narration is excellent.

Historia
The Covert Passive Aggressive Narcissist: Finding Healing After Hidden Emotional and Psychological Abuse is the most comprehensive and helpful audiobook on the topic of covert narcissism. This type of narcissism is one of the most damaging forms because the abuse is so hidden and so insidious. You can be in a relationship that can last for decades and not realize you are being psychologically and emotionally controlled, manipulated, and abused.

Thoughtful Help in my Healing Process
Revisado: 01-11-25
Covert Narcissists cause so much damage, yet can seem like such friendly and agreeable people to those on the "outside." For those who've been subject to the abuse they so easily and ruthlessly inflict, this book can help you feel less alone and provide motivation for moving forward toward peace.

111. Narcissists Red Flags, Red Lights or... Red Herrings?

Historia
Knowing red flags is helpful in avoiding narcissists BUT if we conflate them with red lights, it can PREVENT us from actually moving forward. It is vital to know the difference between red flags we learn to recognise and actual red lights. In the episode, we review what red flags are, why they are NOT red flights. And we look at what red herrings are, and why confused thinking makes us more vulnerable to narcissists.

From the laboratories to the ordinary homes where these breakthroughs are taking place, the book explores our current sensory Renaissance and shows listeners how they, themselves, can heighten their own senses and experience the miraculous.

Would have benefitted from using more resources
Revisado: 09-02-24
While personal experiences are interesting amd beneficial to a book about the senses, I wasn't expecting so much of this. I feel this author should have included sensitivities related to neurodivergence such as Autism and ADHD, for example, but instead just touched on them.

Scandinavia has always been a world apart. For millennia Norwegians, Danes, Finns, and Swedes lived a remote and rugged existence among the fjords and peaks of the land of the midnight sun. But when they finally left their homeland in search of opportunity, these wanderers — including the most famous, the Vikings — would reshape Europe and beyond.

An Author's Idealized Viewpoint
Revisado: 09-02-24
I am disappointed in the narrow viewpoints used in the book. mention is made of some very problematic historical figures, but all that's mentioned is what fits the author's idealized notions. It is vital to review not just what is admired but also share the moral struggles and historical truth.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Every one of us contains a billion times more atoms than all the grains of sand in the earth’s deserts. If you weigh 150 pounds, you’ve got enough carbon to make 25 pounds of charcoal, enough salt to fill a saltshaker, enough chlorine to disinfect several backyard swimming pools, and enough iron to forge a 3-inch nail. But how did these elements combine to make us human?

Daindreth's Point of View
Revisado: 03-30-24
I loved listening to Daindreth's side and the nuance it adds to the series. I'm reading this series now, and it is fantastic. I appreciate that Amira can take care of herself and she doesn't need to be rescued by the male protagonist. If you enjoy slow burn romance and want to read about a woman who can hold her own and rescue HERSELF, read this series!
