Historia
In 1927, eight-year-old Clara Harrington’s magical childhood shatters when her mother, renowned author, Bronwyn Newcastle Fordham, disappears off the coast of South Carolina. Bronwyn stunned the world with a book written in an invented language that became a national sensation when she was just twelve years old. Her departure leaves behind not only a devoted husband and heartbroken daughter, but also the hope of ever translating the sequel to her landmark work. As the headlines focus on the missing author, Clara yearns for something far deeper and more insatiable: her beautiful mother.

A life/attitude changing book!!!
Revisado: 12-18-24
My husband and I loved this story - (when speaking in a child's voice, the narrator wasn't the best)...but we will never see an older person again in the same way. The relationship between the characters is humorous and fun, inspiring and challenging. We laughed. We cried...we were convicted. Grateful.

At their behest, Simeon crafts the Singing Stone, and Isolde goes back into the Shadow to call the Children of the Morning to freedom, to light. But the Wolf is cunning and his allies have made ready. War is coming for Isolde's sister, Rosalyn, for faithful Orin, for Eve and Merrick, and the few remaining warriors who refuse to be silent. Will they find the strength to stand against the last and greatest assault of the Dark Immortals?

AI reader mispronounced words...so many different characters, hard to follow, but good conclusion. Characters winsome.

Historia
William Waters grew up in a house silenced by tragedy, where his parents could hardly bear to look at him, much less love him—so when he meets the spirited and ambitious Julia Padavano in his freshman year of college, it’s as if the world has lit up around him. With Julia comes her family, as she and her three sisters are inseparable: Sylvie, the family’s dreamer, is happiest with her nose in a book; Cecelia is a free-spirited artist; and Emeline patiently takes care of them all.

Historia
Meet Ove. He’s a curmudgeon—the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness. So when one November morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, it is the lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected friendship, and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul.

We will never look at a curmudgeon the same again!
Revisado: 02-16-21
We crown Mr. Backman the KING of metaphor...this story "wakes you up" inside as you live with Ove and his neighbors. The book made us want to be better neighbors, better people...and to not "judge a book by it's cover"....we are ALL walking stories!
