Solid story, great narrator

Collins *loves* coming up with the dumbest names imaginable and then repeating them constantly.

Historia
In upstate New York, in the woods around Woodstock, Dutchman's Creek flows out of the Ashokan Reservoir. Steep-banked, fast-moving, it offers the promise of fine fishing, and of something more, a possibility too fantastic to be true. When Abe and Dan, two widowers who have found solace in each other's company and a shared passion for fishing, hear rumors of the Creek, and what might be found there, the remedy to both their losses, they dismiss it as just another fish story.

The pacing and structure might be a bit odd but but the time the end hammers everything home, it all coalesces perfectly

Best narrator performance of all time
Revisado: 09-19-24
Just a warning - Steven Weber will ruin most future audiobooks for you. He brings so much passion and energy to this book that, much like Michael C. Hall, Will Patton, and more, shows King's work brings out some truly incredible performances.
As for the book - it's a masterpiece. Massive, at times messy, at times frustrating, but an epic in every sense.

A few A+ scares early, but the third act devolves into an endless string of monologues. Last few hours are a true slog. Disappointing.

Winslow delivers again
Revisado: 04-10-24
Writers should study Don Winslow’s ability to zoom in and out when necessary - he can dig into the intimacy of a scene, or describe months of events passing in one paragraph without ever giving the reader whiplash. Narrator was fantastic again as well.

Love Winslow and the story he’s telling with this world. Fantastic narrator.
Only gripe is I found the ending to feel rushed and a pretty cheap / fast cop-out

Good book, but you’ll know a lot of this stuff
Revisado: 04-21-23
If you follow or followed wrestling, you’ll know 50-70% of the stuff covered in this book already. I haven’t watched the product in 15-20 years but I knew most of these stories in detail.
Narrator is good but how was there no producer to help her with pronunciations (saying “en-whoa” for nWo)?
Lastly, these reviewers crying about Trump are over blowing his inclusion by a great amount. For one, he’s a part of the story, and two, there are such obvious parallels between he and McMahon it would be obtuse to ignore them.
