Historia
A dead body, stolen jewelry, a barn full of secrets... not the vacation retired teacher Susan Wiles and her husband Mike expected when they decided to visit their old friends Emily and Henry Fox. Are the ominous events related to the true crime book Emily is writing? To the ten year anniversary of the unsolved disappearance of a local college student? Or to a builder's dream of creating a community of miniature homes at any cost? In a team effort, Susan, Mike, and their friends band together to restore harmony to the idyllic community of Sugarbury Falls, Vermont.

AI narrations bring down story
Revisado: 04-29-25
The story was predictable but interesting enough, the AI narrator made the overall presentation flat. The tone is pleasant but there are no differences in characters, occasional wrong pauses, and mispronunciation. I am seeing this as a trend and it is disturbing. I will look more carefully at the narrator before selecting a book. It can make or break a story.

Beautiful and tragic
Revisado: 07-17-23
A lovely story well written and narrated. Uncertain until the end where the story would go. There was only one character that seemed…well out of character at the end. But no spoiler… figure it out for yourself.

Historia
Tessa Wilson's life is all over the map. She may be clumsy, but this time she's stumbled into a pickle by choice, not by accident. She's agreed to take a month-long trip around Texas jammed into a '59 Cadillac with a drama-loving teenager, two elderly spitfires, and—oh, yes—her biological mama who gave her away at birth. And the ride gets even crazier when hot-as-sin cowboy Branch Thomas crosses into her lane. They don't call him the sexiest man in the Lone Star State for nothin'.

Surprisingly Wonderful
Revisado: 07-12-22
I began this story unsure whether I would like it, but it was wonderful. The narrator captured each character perfectly and I found myself anticipating the next time I could listen when I was forced to turn it off. So many times I laughed out loud and shed a tear, too. Wish it lasted longer.

Historia
When Fiona Edwards first sees the lanky backpacker striding up the lane toward her award-winning farmhouse bed-and-breakfast in the remote mountains of North Wales, she's puzzled. She's used to unexpected strangers, but few arrive on foot. The man to whom she opens her door is middle-aged, unshaven, sweat-soaked…and arrestingly handsome. What neither of them knows at that moment is that their lives are about to change forever.

Finally a book about mature characters with complex challenges. Thought provoking and engaging. I am immediately looking for other books by this author. The narrator was superb and did the story justice.

Well performed narration
Revisado: 12-11-21
Generally I have enjoyed this series with the twists and turns of the plots. The narrator Carrington MacDuffie is excellent in differentiating the characters and performance. However I must agree with other reviewers that the relationship between Mac and Sunny as the series progresses doesn’t play as a solid romance over the long term. As the stories through the books progress, she continually nags to change him from being a dedicated PI and whines when he answers the call, which she has known is his chosen profession from the outset. And finally her obnoxious dog isn’t a situation most men would tolerate. So other than a physical attraction, I don’t understand what keeps him interested in her, much less enough for marriage. In real life, I see divorce in their future. The other weakness in the storyline is her career. She owns her own PR business but never seems to be working yet flies to Europe for weeks on end. Ah the fantasy life.
