Luke Daniels is a very talented voice actor, Catcher specifically. He did swap up some accents, but it was for the best IMHO. It’s nice to see the threats expanding and to catch a glimpse of why they’re pushing the cadets so hard. Looking forward to the next installment!

Fantastic beginning to an epic story

Outstanding world building. The author obviously drew upon his military experiences and utilized them to create a complex story. He spends a lot of time describing the human (and not quite human) terrain. The action is quick paced and consistent enough without turning this into a “hack and slash” story. This is a thinking man’s story of conflict and survival. Well done Doc, I’m looking forward to more!

Nick Cole delivers another high cycle futuristic violent tale told through the company log keeper. Christopher Ryan Grant's performance is spot on. He expresses the emotions and stories of these interesting (and in many cases twisted) private military contractors (PMCs) flawlessly. Without releasing spoilers: You can expect a deep dive into the back stories of our freaks in Voodoo Platoon as well as some of the newer folks in Reaper Platoon. The background information is nested will with the current operational efforts of the Company without sacrificing the white knuckle action we expect from Nick. The action at the end hits like a freight train and leaves you wanting more immediately. Don't burn your tongue or you may get a bad tag.

I was given this book as a gift, I have not (at this point) listened to the main series. Therefore, it took me a little while to get my head wrapped around the universe created by Jeremy Spires and Steven Konecni. This being said, it was a great listen, full of action. I will be starting the main series soon. Hope you enjoy!

Excellent research and description of actual Ranger tactics and techniques. The story is immersive and fast paced. The voice actor anchors the story and the challenges the characters face 10,000 years in the future. The authors must have difficulty producing not only this series but maintaining a separate universe entirely. I could listen to it 999 times!
