Historia
First, it started off as a little fling for the then nineteen-year-old Imani Bleeker. It was advantageous, beneficial, and fun because it was something forbidden, something and someone she knew she had no business doing. A man who watched her grow up, a man who taught her how to fight, and a man who accompanied her to her sweet sixteen. Deep down Don "Greedy" Davidson, fifty-four, is disgusted with himself for fooling around with his goddaughter Imani but he can’t stop from falling in love with her beauty and timeless, familiar grace.

There's dysfunction then there's this!!
Revisado: 01-24-25
I have never encountered a story quite like this one before.
This one truly stands out.
I found it hard to comprehend why Don chose to take his own life without waiting for the paternity test results.
Bonita's decision to end her life was selfish, leaving her son all alone; it seems that if she couldn't have Don in life, she wanted him in death.
Now, Imani has to raise Don's son, whom he never got the chance to meet—it's truly tragic and heartbreaking.
Overall, this was an outstanding story, and I'm glad I finally decided to read it after sitting on it for a while.
Now Ms Alexis, her voice is so melodic to me instantly drawing me into the story. I love everything narrated by her and I look forward to her next audiobook!

Sloane: Dominic Alexander is my late husband's best friend and the last man that I should want. For the last ten years, he's taken a sick pleasure in making me feel paper thin, like my existence is of no consequence to him at all. But now, things are different. After a drunken night, and a surprisingly sexy act of heroism, he's started to be . . . nice. Treating me like something other than the embodiment of his annoyance, which would be nice if it didn't make me feel things I swore to never feel for another man after my husband died.

A Love Like This pt 2 truly captivated me from start to finish. The emotional depth of Serenity and her struggles really hit me hard, and I found myself completely invested in her journey.
The writing was vivid and engaging, making it easy for me to immerse myself in Serenity's world. The character development was superb, and I felt like I knew each character personally by the end of the story. The themes of love, loss, and perseverance were beautifully portrayed, leaving me with a sense of hope and inspiration.

Yonas “Nas” Kadir is a man of few words. He has learned the art of never showing his hand, which is a valued asset for a man who balances his life between dark and light. There’s not much he desires that isn’t as good as promised to him, which is why Dae Richardson can fight the attraction but will ultimately fall for his good looks and undeniable charm, or so he hopes.

I love BLACK love. . .
Revisado: 07-23-24
I absolutely adored this book! Tori and Lance’s love story was both heartbreaking and heartwarming. The writing was beautifully done.
I loved how the author delved into the intricacies of love, forgiveness, and second chances. The redemption arc for both Tori and Lance was beautifully portrayed, showing that it’s never too late to find happiness and love again.
Alexis Stewart, the VA has officially become a narrator that automatically garners 5 star ratings. I’m absolutely enthralled by her! Her ability to envelop the protagonist is top tier. ♾️/10

Historia
New Nigeria is a good, clean, all-American town. The husbands are smiling and handsome, the wives are strong, rich, and powerful, and Nat Turner High is the best public school in the state. Yet, the citizens of this idyllic community find themselves in a rapidly changing country and, to be perfectly honest, some of them are a teeny bit uncomfortable with it all.

There are certain societal rules women should abide by: Never lust after a married man. Never entertain the thought of having sex with anyone old enough to be your dad or your grand-dad. Never seduce a man of the cloth, especially when he is the minister of your mother's church. On this specific Sunday, Tiffany is about to break every last one of these rules. Unapologetically.

Historia
Karli is a woman who is both reckless and careless. It seemed as if she had absolutely no moral compass and no regard for anyone other than herself. Her entire life was based on destroying the marriages of women who hadn't done a thing to her. If you had a husband, they were sure to fall victim to her devious ways. It was a game for her, and she played it well. Believe it or not, she wasn’t always this way. She was once an innocent child who was just trying to survive. But you will soon find out what happens to a child who is used and abused in the worst of ways.

Whew!!
Revisado: 06-14-24
This book was too good to put down!
Karli's tale is raw, deeply felt, and brutally honest. Karli's character complexity and the tragedy she experienced are expertly portrayed by the author.
It's an incredibly painful and thought-provoking book that will force you to consider the effects of abuse and the value of compassion and understanding. For anyone searching for an engaging and thought-provoking book to read, I heartily recommend this one.
It is deserving of ten stars!

Her writing is incredibly evocative and emotional, pulling the reader into the heart of Calvin's struggle to navigate his dual identity in a world that wants to force him to choose.
