Wow! For a wonderfully written story.

This book was on a recommended list of Palestinian authors to read. The story was traumatic and beautiful. The character will remain with me for some time. I enjoyed the perspective this book gives of Palestinian life. I had no idea of the struggles they deal with on a daily basis and for the decades they have dealt with it. My heart breaks for them then and now.

My Favorite True Crime Podcast

Listening to MaRah and Taz detailing stories of black women losing their sh*t and murdering folks is a highlight of my week. Murder is not comforting, but listening to a podcast where the people speaking sound like me and my friends is.

I like the subjects they choose to profile. I love the random singing outbursts (I have a cousin who does that all the time)! The episode lengths are perfect. Not too long and not too short.

The thing that hooked me the reason I will keep listening is because of how relatable and familiar the hosts are. The last segment of every show, "I didn't do it but if I did..." is what we all think of murders or crimes in general when folks get caught.

Keep up the good work ladies!! And to my fellow sistas out there thinking of murdering someone...DON'T!! Or at minimum come up with a better plan than the one you have now and an exit strategy sis.

A Fave of a Dedicated Podcast Listener

I enjoy everything about this podcast. Learning American history in an entertaining and informative way. The reenactments give character and life to the stories.

Most of the series presented by American Scandal are all events that we hear or have heard about regularly. This podcasts gives listeners the opportunity to dive a deeper into each of these scandalous times in our history. I definitely end each episode with a deeper understanding of the subject being examined.

Thank you Lindsay A. Graham (not that Lindsey Graham) and the rest of the team that put these podcasts together. Keep making the world a more informed and smarter place.

Good Story But...

The narrator's performance was decent and believable for the main character, Frankie. As for everyone else...grated on my nerves. The Haitian aunt sounded like Paula Dean. 13 year-old Emmanuel (she mispronounced his name throughout the whole book) sounded like a whiny 8-year-old. The overall dialogue was very unbelievable.

I love a good mystery. The twists and turns in this one kept me guessing until the end. I did roll my eyes at the very end. Other than that this was a good listen.

Side hustle blah blah blah...

I could not get more than 20 minutes into the audio book before I got annoyed with hear the term "side hustle." There has got to be another word or phrase the author could have used. Ugh.
