Very good. Enjoyed it very much and can’t wait for the next one. The writer did a great job carrying on the Oregon’s legacy.

Not as good as I had hoped

I had a hard time with the story line. I at times found myself almost rooting for the bad guys. Granted I have never been in a situation like this family but had I been, I would like to think I would have done better than they did.

They were far too trusting and passive to survive in a world gone mad. They seemed to always give the bad guy the benefit of the doubt and it almost got them all killed.

I had to force myself to finish this series and am not sure I will listen to this author’s other series. The narrator did a good job of reading the story and trying to make the book more enjoyable.

One of the most enjoyable books I have listened to in a long time

This has to be one of the most enjoyable books I have listened to in a long time. It kept my interest the entire time. For a end of the world book it was not full of zombies, bad guys and lots of other horrible things. It was a refreshing book to listen to. I hope that the author will do a sequel to this so we know how they are all doing.

I saw a lot of negative comments on this book and was not sure about listening to it. I am glad I took the chance. Yes some of the story was no where near reality but it is just a book.
You can learn some things about prepping from it but that is not what it is for. It is entertainment not a how to book.
The narrator did a better than expected job. Sometimes he was hard to follow when a bunch of people were involved in something but in the long run he did great.

A interesting book

I have enjoyed all the previous books in this series but I think this one was the least enjoyable. The narration is ok but his “Spanish” accent sounds like an Irish one. Other than that he does a good job. The writer on the other hand seems to just throw this one together. The story lines do not seem to to ambitious in this book. He writes lots of fighting scenes which I think every one includes a penis being shot off or an artery being hit. I wish I was that good or lucky of a shot. People who have probably never shot a gun in their past are all of a sudden a marksman or just damn lucky. He has more arteries getting cut or nicked with people bleeding out all over. He seems like he tries to outdo his previous descriptions of shooting wounds and it gets old. So far I can’t see how the story line’s will merge in the future. Don’t get me wrong. It is a good listen if you can put up with all the violence and killing of regular humans and PV’s. And one more thing. He has a Spanish character and when he is speaking or thinking to himself he writes him in Spanish but mixes in English as well and makes it difficult to understand and enjoy.

Better than I thought it would be.

This was a pleasant surprise. I was not expecting much from it but it kept my interest. At first I was a little thrown about all the different characters that the author was introducing but then I saw that it was a 3 book series so that explained that. You could tell the author was from Australia because of some of the words he used. In the US we say flashlight not torch but that is just me knitpicking. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to listening to the next of the series.

Very enjoyable listen

I enjoyed this book much more than the first one. Not so much “Colorful” language like the first one. The group is getting in a grove and things appear to be going well. The pranks they play on the gang are great.

I really enjoyed this book. It was full of action and kept me listening at time when I should have been working.😀. I am sad however that this could have been the last book in this series as the author kind of wrapped everything up.

Could have been so much better.

I tried very hard to like this series but while it was an ATSHTF story it was a little unrealistic (not that I have been through anything like that). This story was written through the eyes of a liberal woman’s eyes. Had she done half of the stupid things that she did in a real oh crap situation she would have been dead. As for Wyatt… for supposedly being an ex navy seal he was pretty worthless. First of all any self respecting seal would have some decent weapons and have a good tactical mind. It seemed like he went along with the woman even though a real seal or someone with a brain would have stopped her in her tracks. The story could have been so much better written but the narrator was very good.
