Halloween Land by Kevin J. Kennedy is a fun little horror story about a cursed Halloween carnival. A story following 2 kids who can't wait to go to the carnival until things get weird in the fun house. Years later, the carnival is back, and they know what they need to do. This really was a fun story, but I found myself wanting more from it. Unfortunately, I'm not 100% sure what exactly I want. Some areas I had questions about were never answered. But overall, I think I want more of the carnival and what it can really do.....who knows we could be getting a sequel, and I'm just too impatient. I definitely want more from this universe. I want to know the evil on a deeper level, I want to know others' stories from the carnival, too. Regardless, I do really recommend this story for a fun Halloween season read. It was enjoyable and fast-paced.

The narration by Daniel Berry was done quite well. His voice flowed well with the story. There are no technical issues that I can recall.

Things Were Easier Before Youe Became a Giant Fucking Mantis by Matthew Clarke was another killer story that hits on social commentary. Bizarro horror with some very real hitting circumstances but with humans and praying mantises. This is just one you have to read to get. But when I finished it, I told Matt it kind of reminded me of American History X.....which he's never seen, and I'm still concerned about that. A story about internal bias, murder, racism, and a hate group. If you're like me and enjoy the social commentary in your horror pick this up ASAP.

Narrated by Robert "Rein" Ramsay was perfect. One of those narrators who really keep you enthralled in the story. I hope to hear more from him.

Selleck's 'Stache is Missing! By Charles Chadwick is a wonderfully campy bizarro story that seeps a bit into the horror world. As the title claims, Tom Selleck loses his mustache. Everything after that is hilarious insanity. This is one you absolutely can not take seriously. There's assassins, and fights, and no one knows who Selleck is now. Don't forget that moral high ground. The book feels very B-rate movie, but unfortunately, so much happens in a small time it's a bit overwhelming to keep up. But let's be honest, that makes some movies even better, I'm just on the fence if it works for a book.

The narraration by Daniel Reskin was top tier. His inflections and voice work made the story that much more amusing and funny. Definitely recommend getting this one as an audiobook.

Cthulhu Fishing off the Iraq Nebula by Chris Meekings is a wild bizarro horror story. There's a gecko in a zoot suit!! Need I say more? Seriously, though, this was a solid mix of bizarro, horror, and psychological questioning. Unsure of what's real and what's not in the story. It's a short one that you can easily get through in one sitting.

The narration by Jason Beamish is absolutely insane. You have to listen to it to understand, but oh my god, I'm so impressed with what he managed to do here. To the point I thought something went wonky with the audio at first. Just trust me on this one. You want the audio book.

The Secret Sex Lives of Ghosts by Dustin Reade is equally weird and wonderful. This bizarro horror isn't like anything you expected. Thomas technically died when he was younger. But survived, and ever since, he can see ghosts. To his surprise, ghosts are....awfully horny. His job is to kill problem ghosts. None of this story goes anyway you think it will. The mob is involved, ghosts....so many ghosts, STDs, sex, then drugs, sort of, and with drugs add the police. This was a wild ride from start to finish. I was fully invested from the first few lines, and it took so many turns that I got whiplash. I laughed out loud multiple times and just genuinely loved this story. As absolutely ridiculous as it was, I'd consider it a palate cleanser horror. If you want a break from the gore and brutality but still want to read horror, this is a perfect option. I could go on about this one for hours, but I'll spare you, pick it up for 6 just trust me.

The narration by Brian Jeffords was perfect. Somehow, it made funny parts even funnier, and the serious bits make you pause. You'll really just have to listen to it to understand. I promise I'm not leading you astray. This one is worth it.

Dad Jokes by Justin Hunter took absolutely no time to get into the carnage. Oh my god, this was one of the most bizarre bizarro horror stories I've gotten my hands on. Dad's across the city keep exploding! Literally! While the city is trying to find out why their husband's and fathers heads are just blowing up, a young boy named Chip is super into the occult and summoning demons. Oh, and there's a stripper, too. No matter what I say, you won't believe me unless you read it yourself. The number of times I laughed and said, "WHAT?!" though this story is ridiculous. I loved it. You're all just gonna have to trust me on this one. If you enjoy bizarro horror, please pick this one up as soon as possible. It's over the top ridiculous, gory, and darkly humorous.

Narration by Joel Simler was definitely done well. While doing his job professionally, it also felt like he made sure you don't take this one too seriously and catch the humor, too. He kind of had a reporter voice, but it oddly worked well for this story. I'm unsure how else to explain it. I look forward to listening to some more of his narration in the future.

Troll by Matthew Clarke....where to even begin? Have you ever been on any given social media platform and found that one person who seems to just be there to cause trouble? Of course you have, we all have! Troll gives us a bizarro glimpse into both sides of that world. The trolls world and the victims. Now imagine being depressed and going to a site for support.... only to get the troll of the site. That's what this story is about. At only 94 pages, that's what I'll leave you with. I love Matt's work, I adore how much social commentary he includes. I know it may not be for everyone, but that real-life situation with a bizarre twist is just perfect to me. I find his work should make others think before they speak or self evaluate occasionally. Horror that ties in to what we all may deal with daily is an art. Even being bizarro horror, it still hits you differently. Well, at least it does for me. After reading this one, what will you do the next time you run into a troll?

Narration by Brian Jeffords was fantastic. He really brought the story to life in the weirdest and best ways you can for a story like this. His voice work for each character brought a depth I wasn't expecting, and Mrs. Starchy....the voice was similar. Maybe a filter was used? But man, I can't get that voice out of my head....or the sass.

A Quaint New England Town by Gregory L. Norris wasn't at all what I expected. A story about a census taker going to a town no one seems to go to and for good reason. This story was a fun little bizarro horror that, while somewhat predictable, still didn't quite go the way I had expected. This is one of those stories you can knock out in a sitting and not get bored. It took no time to get into the weird.

The narration by Kathy Handrock had some issues but not enough to take away from the story. There was some background fuzziness, and she sounded farther away than I'm sure she was from the mic. Again, this didn't take away from the story, I just know technical issues sometimes bother audiobook listeners. Regardless, she kept my attention through the entire story and did a good job narrating it.

Inside the Devils Nest by John Durgin was fantastic. This book took no time to get jnto the action. Mobsters, Gods, cults, murder, brain washing, what more could you ask for?? Andrew makes a deal with the mob to use his empty properties for a cut of their money. An offer that seems harmless enough and let's his family live a very comfortable lifestyle. Until he sees something he shouldn't. They run away to a property no one knows he owns, only to run into a whole new slew of issues. Inside the Devils Nest is filled with anxiety, tension, and uneasiness. You're never quite sure who you should be rooting for as things take a turn at every corner of the story. I really loved this one, to the point I wasn't ready for it to end when it did. John has a hell of a way with his words, and I don't want to spoil any bit of it. This was one of those books I'll recommend to literally anyone who enjoys horror. It has a little of everything and keeps your attention every step of the way.

Joe Hempel was a wonderful choice for narration. He has one of those voices you could just listen to for days. He really pulls you into the story and doesn't let you go. Leaving bits of silence to build moments up and making sure you feel the fear the characters do.

Frost Falls by Eve Evans was a nice little ghost story. Following two friends on a weekend get away to a haunted lodge and what unfolds from there. The story is claimed to be psychological horror, but it was more of a ghost story with a twist at the end. I feel like the story fell flat for me. There was a lot of build-up for what had happened to cause the lodge to be haunted. However, the climax was a bit lackluster. Regardless, the story was fun and entertaining. I enjoyed it for what it was, but wanted more from it at the same time.

The narrator, unfortunately, almost made me not finish the story. He sounded like a news reporter through the entire thing. I'd LOVE to hear him narrate a book that's told through news reports. I think he'd be wonderful at that. But his voice took away from this one for me, sadly.
