In 1958, there was a fire....

Frost Falls by Eve Evans was a nice little ghost story. Following two friends on a weekend get away to a haunted lodge and what unfolds from there. The story is claimed to be psychological horror, but it was more of a ghost story with a twist at the end. I feel like the story fell flat for me. There was a lot of build-up for what had happened to cause the lodge to be haunted. However, the climax was a bit lackluster. Regardless, the story was fun and entertaining. I enjoyed it for what it was, but wanted more from it at the same time.

The narrator, unfortunately, almost made me not finish the story. He sounded like a news reporter through the entire thing. I'd LOVE to hear him narrate a book that's told through news reports. I think he'd be wonderful at that. But his voice took away from this one for me, sadly.

This was fun little story about a pair of friends making a bad choice that gets them into some supernatural trouble. I enjoyed listening to it. The characters are flawed like everyone is and make questionable choices as we all do but it was a fun ride. it's worth checking out.
