Historia
Maya was a high school senior when her best friend, Aubrey, dropped dead in front of the enigmatic man named Frank whom they’d been spending time with all summer. Seven years later, Maya lives in Boston with a loving boyfriend and is kicking the secret addiction that has allowed her to cope with what happened years ago, the gaps in her memories, and the lost time that she can’t account for. But her past comes rushing back when she comes across a recent YouTube video in which a young woman suddenly keels over and dies in a diner while sitting across from none other than Frank.

Took some time but good story once it picked up
Revisado: 02-12-23
This story took some time to build. Probably could have cut out several chapters as it seemed to drag on. I was hooked for the last 2.5 hours or so but wish it hadn’t taken so long to get to that point. Loved the performance but the story itself was good, not great.

Jim tells Evie she did something terrible back home, that he's hiding her to protect her. But Evie can't remember anything about that night - for all she knows, he's lying. Give it a fair chance
Revisado: 08-25-21
This book took some time to build. Around chapter 10 is when I remember it picking up enough that I couldn’t stop listening. That said, it’s worth the listen. So many twists and turns kept me on my toes.

Historia
Every object has a ghost. There is a small yellow backpack - half unzipped, mouth yawning to the pavement, contents strewn around it (a banana, an exercise book, a pair of scissors) - abandoned on a suburban footpath. Ten feet away, the rubber stamp of tyres, resisting clamped brakes, mount the curb and cut across the path. The tracks come to an end at a crippled stop sign. The street, a tree-lined suburban road dappled in late-afternoon sunlight, is calm. But anyone walking past can feel the ghosts: the prickle on the back of their necks that tells them something happened here.

Great story & narration!
Revisado: 08-16-21
Wow! I couldn’t stop listening to this book. Great story, diverse group of characters, & the narration was great. The narration is the best I’ve heard in a while - all of her characters were noticeably different. Usually I get hung up on the narrators ability to convince me (or not) that they’re playing different characters but this was not the case. I’d recommend this to anyone who likes a good suspense story!

Historia
As a doctor, I walk a dangerously delicate balance of being compassionate but not overly invested. The same is true in my personal life - love is a luxury I can’t afford. It isn’t until Dr. Westin Grant breaks down all my walls and offers me a future, I find myself wondering if I’m brave enough to risk my heart. When who I was and who I’ve tried to become collide during my clinical trial, the fate of one patient changes everything.

A story I could have done without
Revisado: 08-03-21
Within the first chapter, I could tell this wasn’t going to be the book for me. Not one to quit a book, I listened to the entire thing only to be disappointed. The main character was hard to tolerate at times. The performance made me think of being a little kid playing Barbies - you know, when you have to play Ken & Barbie. I couldn’t get over that & it made the book that much harder to get through. I will say that the end wasn’t what I expected so that made it slightly better.
