I found the narrator's voice WAY TO FAST, slowing it down to 75% was an improvement

Historia
For a moment, things seemed to be under control for Breq, the soldier who used to be a warship. Then a search of Athoek Station's slums turns up someone who shouldn't exist, and a messenger from the mysterious Presger empire arrives, as does Breq's enemy, the divided and quite possibly insane Anaander Mianaai—ruler of an empire at war with itself. Breq refuses to flee with her ship and crew, because that would leave the people of Athoek in terrible danger. The odds aren't good, but that's never stopped her before.

Illuminates the power and effect of gender pronouns.
Revisado: 06-01-18
Great use of accents by the reader.
I found the use of female pronouns as the default "neutral" a delightful change, and positively inclusive for me (a woman).
This also has me curious to hear the experience of male readers.
It illuminates how our typical language, wth so often male pronouns and assumptions as default, alienates and excludes half the population.
I would LOVE to see what it's like to read familiar books with the pronouns all neutralized, switched, or entirely feminized.
