Good story, annoying reading

After reading the hard copy of this book, I suggested that my husband check it out. He decided to download the audiobook and we listened to it together. Maybe it's just a personal preference, but when I read this book, I liked the main character because she seemed self-reliant and matter-of-fact. However, the narrator made her seem exactly the opposite, whiny, over-dramatic, and unlikeable Her over-acting completely changed the feel of the story. At least my husband got a good laugh out of it.

This story is engrossing, funny, and sometimes tragic. The author has such a great style - you feel like you really know Sonia. Down to earth, entertaining, and unique.

Not very helpful

I was hoping that this would contain simple Spanish songs that I could sing to my baby, or English phrases and Spanish translations, so I could speak to my baby in Spanish. It has neither. Instead, it's 35 min of people singing in English, with a few Spanish words thrown in. (Example: "Guess who's hungry, I know who. Guess who's hungry, it's you! Would you like some milk? La leche.") Further, the Spanish is spoken with a Castillian accent, which is not common in the U.S., Mexico, or South America, and is a little difficult to understand. I didn't think the woman spoke very clearly, either. I think that there are more useful programs to help you and your baby learn Spanish.
