Historia
Beth and her gentle, kind husband Frank are happily married, but their relationship relies on the past staying buried. But when Beth’s brother-in-law shoots a dog going after their sheep, Beth doesn’t realize that the gunshot will alter the course of their lives. For the dog belonged to none other than Gabriel Wolfe, the man Beth loved as a teenager—the man who broke her heart years ago. Gabriel has returned to the village with his young son Leo, a boy who reminds Beth very much of her own son, who died in a tragic accident.

Get ready to feel… this book has taken me through a plethora of emotion. The sadness and unnecessary loss gutted me, as did the unconditional love and hope. I love books whose characters make me question who I would be and what I would do in similar circumstances. Within each character I learn a little more about myself

Historia
In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

Fame doesn’t fill your soul
Revisado: 08-03-24
I love this book. I am so proud of Brittany! I’ve been sober for 30 years. There is a puzzle piece that belongs in us that is God-shaped. We may try to make other things fit, ie food, relationships, sex, drugs, or alcohol. But the only piece that fits is GOD. I remember seeing Brittany on x- factor. She was different. Her confidence was missing and she looked like she carried a thousand lbs. no one should ever be that “tired” at her age. I realize there are 2 sides to every story, but it’s apparent that her parents used her. Her whole family made money of her misery. That is unbelievably cruel. Our parents are supposed to hold us when we are broken, her parents took her pieces and sold them on EBay. GOD can do all things, and GOD is mending her soul and spirit. I live in Mississippi and travel frequently to Baton Rouge. I pass McComb and Kenwood. I also travel to Destin frequently. I am really going to show out- and not in a good way- if I ever cross paths with her family!

Revisado: 05-22-24
Baldacci has written an incredible novel. It will make you angry, it will make you cry, but most of all, it will lights flames of compassion and empathy that stay with you long after you finish the book. This book should be required reading in schools with the likes of Harper Lee and mark Twain. Its message is important and meaningful.

Historia
Josephine Clark is trapped. A harrowing past haunts her every time she looks in the mirror, and she can't escape the violence of her everyday life. Trust the process
Revisado: 04-14-24
I liked the spiritual aspect of the storyline. The trust and honesty between the 2 main characters is something I think all of us would love to have in a relationship. Like the old saying goes, “Faith is stepping out into nothing and finding something there.”

Historia
The average song is three and a half minutes long; those three and a half minutes could lead to a slow blink, a glimpse of the past, or catapult the soul into heart-shattering nostalgia. At the height of my career, I had the life I wanted, the life I’d always envisioned. I’d found my tempo, my rhythm. Then I received a phone call that left me off key. You see, my favorite songs had a way of playing simultaneously. I was in love with one man’s beats and another’s lyrics. But when it came to the soundtrack of a life, how could anyone choose a favorite song?

My Favorite Book…
Revisado: 03-15-23
I have over 1000 books in my library- this is my absolute favorite. My own life has a playlist, music is a deep part of who I am. I also happen to be from Austin so it’s easy for me to picture the setting in my mind. The intense emotions are so palpable. like Stella, every shred of pain I’ve had in my life made me a better person. If I never walked through it, I wouldn’t be who I am today. I wouldn’t change anything- even if I could. I recommend listening to the song associated with each chapter to immerse yourself even further into the book. Thank you, Kate Stewart, you are, no doubt, a kindred spirit.

This is a saga that spans many years. I feel very connected to these characters, they are well written. The narrator’s English and Irish accents were horrible, though.

This is a beautiful book about the price of fame and the genuine parts of us we are too scared to share with others. Its about loneliness, love, and heartbreak, but also about being human and flawed. Very thoughtful reading…

Brilliant!
Revisado: 08-04-21
As Sandra Brown is my favorite author, I am always glad when a new book is released. This book did not disappoint. From the very first chapter I could not not stop listening. Every character has a purpose in the story. Their personalities and meaning evolve throughout the book. By the time the book ends everybody’s place and motives are apparent leaving no questions. I was particularly excited about this book because it is set in the 1920’s. I had no idea how it would play out, but I was never bored, ever. Great listen!

Just so everybody knows, there is NO 3rd book. Being that it was originally published in 2014 and this is 2019, I’m guessing there won’t be one forthcoming. If you enjoyed this book, you’ll have to imagine your own ending.
