Historia
From the Sunday Times top ten bestselling author of The Psychopath Test, a captivating and brilliant exploration of one of our world's most underappreciated forces: shame. 'It's about the terror, isn't it?' 'The terror of what?' I said. 'The terror of being found out.' For the past three years, Jon Ronson has travelled the world meeting recipients of high-profile public shamings. The shamed are people like us - people who, say, made a joke on social media that came out badly, or made a mistake at work.

Ronson makes you think twice before you tweet
Revisado: 12-29-16
Would you consider the audio edition of So You've Been Publicly Shamed to be better than the print version?
N/A
What other book might you compare So You've Been Publicly Shamed to and why?
I haven't read anything like this book before, which is probably why I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Did Jon Ronson do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
In all of Jon Ronson's case studies, if you can call them that, he give vivid insight into their mannerisms, speech, attitudes, etc... that in a way explains the person's predicament.
If you could give So You've Been Publicly Shamed a new subtitle, what would it be?
So You've Been Publicly Shamed: Sometimes it's for the best (or worst)
Any additional comments?
This was my first jaunt into Jon Ronson's literature, and it won't be my last. He presents fantastic case studies, rhetoric, and research to better his exploration into the social media shaming that is commonplace today. It'll definitely make you think twice before you tweet or post anything on social media again.

Guide to Money Management in Layman's Terms
Revisado: 04-08-16
What other book might you compare Rich Bitch to and why?
I tend to shy away from financial advice books because the language is far too complicated and the pertinent stuff is never really explained. There may be books similar to Lapin's, I simply haven't found them.
Any additional comments?
This book was fabulous. Lapin is an empowering woman. She breaks down money management and demystifies investments, budgets, debt, home ownership, and so much more. She gives it to you straight, no bull, no fancy jargon (and if there are any she quickly follows up with an explanation), and no marketing pitches. Like many books of this type, half the work is figuring out your goals (or end game, as Lapin refers to it), the next is figuring out how you're going to get there. Sometimes changing your mindset to align with your goal(s) is all you need to get going in the right direction. She says to treat yourself like a business, constantly changing, growing, and shifting. Money and finance should and can be for everyone, just listen to Lapin and your business (i.e. YOU) will flourish.

Fake It Until You BECOME It
Revisado: 03-23-16
Would you listen to Presence again? Why?
Yes, I think books like this have gems that may take a second or third read through to realize, grasp, and master.
What other book might you compare Presence to and why?
Quiet, The Tao of Dating, Waking Up Happy, The Happiness Project, and so many more
Which character – as performed by Amy Cuddy – was your favorite?
N/A
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, in fact I would advise against doing that with books of this kind. It's best to listen to small doses, and hour or two at a time. The first part of the book is difficult to get through but it's important to listen and apply her techniques step by step, as you listen to the whole book.
Any additional comments?
Once you get through Cuddy's explanation and elucidation on all the dry research and techniques employed by past researchers in this field and similar fields, you'll find that there really was a method to Cuddy's madness in shaping her own research and conclusions at figuring out and attaining presence.

Historia
Wildflower is a portrait of Drew's life in stories as she looks back on the adventures, challenges, and incredible experiences of her earlier years. It includes tales of living on her own at 14 (and how laundry may have saved her life), getting stuck in a gas station overhang on a cross-country road trip, saying good-bye to her father in a way only he could have understood, and many more adventures and lessons that have led her to the successful, happy, and healthy place she is today.

Smiles for Days
Revisado: 03-23-16
If you could sum up Wildflower in three words, what would they be?
Sweet, Charming, and Honest
What was one of the most memorable moments of Wildflower?
Her retelling of the passing of her three beloved dogs Flossie, Templeton, and Vivian. I cried a little bit, mostly because it awakened the feelings of losing my own beloved dogs.
Which character – as performed by Drew Barrymore – was your favorite?
Drew Barrymore, naturally
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I think listening to the book put me on an even, emotion keel for the rest of the day.

Historia
Can you have it all? I believe that smart, successful women can have both a great career and a rich, warm, fulfilling love life. See - smart women like yourself were having unfulfilling love lives on an epidemic scale when I was an advisor at Harvard. They either couldn't find the right guy, were with the wrong guy, had relationships that didn't last, or had given up on dating entirely. So I wrote this book to remedy the situation. This is not your grandma's dating guide.

Good Advice for EVERY Female (and Male)
Revisado: 03-02-16
Would you consider the audio edition of The Tao of Dating to be better than the print version?
N/A
What did you like best about this story?
The down-to-earth advice, stories, and thoughts of the author. They were clear, concrete, and applicable to any woman's life or situation.
What does Ali Binazir, MD bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I can imagine that the text might become too dense considering the large ideas Dr. Binazir explains. The audiobook carries the author's tone, highlighting the important parts while spending little time on the minutiae.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, there's a lot of advice and exercises that require you to listen, stop, think, sleep on it, and then start listening again. I think it would be a disservice to listen to the book in one sitting.
Any additional comments?
Be prepared to look inward, at yourself and your choices. Sometimes all it takes is self awareness, gratitude, and fluidity to nurture and maintain a relationship with someone else.

Rosemary's Contribution
Revisado: 02-28-16
The book is difficult to listen to, I recommend listening to it for a very long drive/trip rather than on and off. The title is also misleading, since it's more about how the Kennedys handled Rosemary and her incapacities, given the the era and how little was known. The end makes it worth the long listen, with the remaining brother and sisters as well as the nieces and nephews continuing to contribute to special needs programs, research, funding, and therapy that all started because of a wonderful woman named Rosemary.

A Quick, Heartfelt Listen
Revisado: 01-22-16
What did you love best about Orphan Train?
I enjoyed Vivian's story alongside Molly's story, it showed how difficult life is for a foster child in the throes of a broken system.
What other book might you compare Orphan Train to and why?
I can't fully explain why, but the first thing that came to mind was the movie Free Willy. The boy is a troubled foster kid who finds an animal that needs help, as Molly to Vivian.
What does Jessica Almasy and Suzanne Toren bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The Irish accent was nice, although it wasn't reflected at all in the older Vivian voice.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It left me in a melancholy mood, there were both happy and sad moments that balanced out.
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed the book, although the narrating was confusing as it switched between Molly and Vivian, it's worth listening to.

Would you consider the audio edition of It's Not Easy Being Green to be better than the print version?
The actor's voices definitely add meaning to the inspiring things
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
A lot of feels and inspiration
Which scene was your favorite?
Kermit singing Rainbow Connection
What insight do you think you’ll apply from It's Not Easy Being Green?
We all have the capacity to do good
You can be successful in anything you do
To be a creator, you must also be an appreciater
Any additional comments?
The audiobook is only an hour and more of a vignette than any sort of story. If you're in the dumps, pull out this audiobook out and listen, and listen again.
