Historia
The beaten, bound and mutilated bodies of three 8-year-olds, Christopher Byers, Michael Moore and Stevie Branch, were pulled from a muddy ditch in a wooded area in West Memphis, Ark., on May 6, 1993. The boys had gone missing the day before. Weeks of investigation led to arrests of Damien Echols, 18, Jason Baldwin, 16, and Jessie Misskelley Jr. on June 3, 1993, after the 17-year-old Misskelley confessed that he and two friends murdered the boys. All three were convicted. The convictions held up on appeal. Eventually, thanks to Hollywood celebrities and misleading documentaries, the killers ...

A superior and detailed account…
Revisado: 02-07-25
… of the complicated and notorious case of the Memphis Three. Unfortunately, this is another example of a well-crafted and beautifully composed story, almost completely ruined by the distracting, disruptive and inferior virtual voice narration. This is a critical error I hope fewer authors continue to make – trusting their well honed narratives, and carefully chosen words to the mispronounced, cloying and abject abortive failure of Virtual Voice.

Historia
A new mother is pursued by mysterious men in black. A misguided youth learns the dark secrets of the world from an elderly neighbor on Halloween night. A housewarming party where the guests never leave. A caretaker tends to his rusted relic of a god deep in the desert.... In his debut short story collection, Bram Stoker Award finalist Ronald Malfi mines the depths and depravities of the human condition, exploring the dark underside of religion, marriage, love, fear, regret, and hunger in a world that spins just slightly askew on its axis. Rich in atmosphere and character, Malfi's debut collection is not to be missed.

Insufferable narrator destroyed every single story
Revisado: 01-22-25
I generally love Ronald‘s work. This narrator destroyed any hope for my enjoying any of these, for the most part, well written stories. I thought I hated virtual voice, until I heard this voice. Inexcusable.

What a gifted author, with such wickedly almost surgical insight to the human mind and behavior. Each of the stories is different and while I may not have liked them all - I respect them all for being psychological masterpieces. Please keep writing. You are a gift.

From the woman who is credited for launching what we know as the celebrity-focused, “brand”-driven, social-media-obsessed popular culture of today comes an honest and surprising memoir that reckons with that truth, and shows that there is so much more to Paris Hilton than you might believe.

Paris has won my heart, love, and respect forever!
Revisado: 11-03-24
My advice:
But this book (the extended edition)
Read it. Listen to it. Absorb it by osmosis – whatever suits you.
You won’t regret it.
Paris Hilton soars like an angel with a gloriously well-honed edge in this epic memoir. With her unique voice, incisive intelligence and rare ability to balance raw and vulnerable honesty with a singular blend of grace and class, Paris once again proves that there is SO much more to her than meets the eye.
From the beautiful, young reality TV star and supermodel of her youth to the equally stunning, wise, generous, and powerhouse family woman, mogul and living example of resilience, power, and great wit she has become today, I am confident this blockbuster of a book will be simply one of many highpoints in the life of a modern icon who also manages to be so wonderfully human, relatable, and authentic.

Historia
For nearly two decades, Jamie Warren has been running from darkness. He's haunted by a traumatic childhood and the guilt at having disappeared from his disabled brother's life. But then a series of unusual events reunites him with his estranged brother and their childhood friends, and none of them can deny the sense of fate that has seemingly drawn them back together. Nor can they deny the memories of that summer, so long ago—the strange magic taught to them by an even stranger man, and the terrible act that has followed them all into adulthood.

This is my first Ronald Malfi book. 🎆
Thrilling intricate plot lines, compelling, complex characters - with whom this reader identified - combined with a fearless style of writing that gets under your skin right away and remains there with continued nuance throughout.

After 11 readings, maybe I’m brave enough to leave a truly honest review
Revisado: 09-08-24
Depression and I have been acquaintances for the majority of my life, and when it gets too close, I come back to this book. Of all the books I’ve ever read, it presses the reset button on love, hope and the power of life in my often unfortunately sad mind. No matter how close final despair may sit to me, this mad brave book has literally saved my life. Several times. Thank you so much Adam. #plutosforever

Historia
Once upon a time, long, long ago, in a land far, far away, there lived a very manly king, who had only one son who was named Arron. This prince was not as manly as the king might have liked; indeed, he was quite certain the lad had no taste for princesses. In fact he noticed the way his son's gaze lingered on comely stable boys and many of the handsome knights of his court.

Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

I fell in love with the characters and with the setting. The story was dynamic, compelling, mysterious, and thrilling. I didn’t know the culprit’s identity fairly early on, but my unusual perception does not reflect poorly on the story. If this is a series I will be reading more.
