Did an AI “write” this?!!!
Revisado: 04-16-25
It’s like a parody of a Florida detective / adventure novel without the humor. The narrator does a good job, tho.

Why do girls score better at every academic subject than boys until puberty, when suddenly their scores plummet? And does the female brain really exist? In Eve, Cat Bohannon answers questions scientists should have been addressing for decades. With boundless curiosity and sharp wit, she covers the past 200 million years to explain the specific science behind the development of the female sex.

Narration is outstanding
Revisado: 09-21-24
The narrator nailed it! In fact, she enhanced the story. Storyline was good, interesting perspective of the early 1930’s in the US. I did have some difficulty with descriptions of situations that more resembled how things are done now vs what they were like then. The phone call descriptions, wiring money, windows painted shut (no AC), etc. These were likely not intentional - but one can’t research something unless they realize it needs to be researched. Overall, I like the story and the presentation was great

Ok story and production, but the volume varied often requiring frequent manual volume adjustments. Since I listen while doing chores, this was very inconvenient

The narration is horrible. Wrong voice, repetitive intonation and cadence. It’s not listenable. Until the AI improves in reading ability, I won’t do any more automated voices.

Horrible AI narration
Revisado: 06-30-24
At least at this point, AI is not up to “reading” aloud. The same exact cadence and intonation for everything is good for sleeping and very unhuman. Also, pronoun citation is an issue.

Historia
It's not always easy being a female warrior with a nickname like Annwyl the Bloody. Men tend to either cower in fear-a lot-or else salute. It's true that Annwyl has a knack for decapitating legions of her ruthless brother's soldiers without pausing for breath. But just once it would be nice to be able to really talk to a man - the way she can talk to Fearghus the Destroyer. Too bad that Fearghus is a dragon, of the large, scaly, and deadly type.

Soft Porn more prevalent than storyline
Revisado: 12-06-23
Fine, if this is what you are looking for; boring, otherwise. Very repetitive, female-submissive/male domination. I won’t be continuing in the series.
Although I like a later series by the same author that isn’t so sex-focused.

Fantasy Adventure is fine But
Revisado: 08-25-23
I enjoyed the first book in the series and generally like the world building and storyline.
However, it IS a bit creepy that the main male lead who is in a mentor role to the main female lead and is at least old enough to be her father is “romantically “ interested in her. The female lead’s interest in his physique is disingenuousness - he is too old for her initial reaction. Maybe over time, but she would be more in awe of someone her age
