Value, Though not my favorite
Revisado: 04-26-25
I love to learn and I love to learn how to support my Twonager-toddler. There's a lot of value in this book, but it's not my favorite for 2 reasons. 1st, even though toddler years are generally considered roughly 1.5-4. This book repeatedly talks about how easy it was when they were 2 compared to 3 and seems to focus on examples of ages 3-5. I found this strange and frustrating as my 2yo started her tantrums at 18 months old. My child's behavior is manageable and I've learned great techniques particularly from other books. 2nd, what's with all the cussing? A parenting book I can't play in front of my toddler lest she repeat the gratuitous and unnecessary cussing! All that said, I gave it 4 stars because there was still enough value here. My favorite: sleep as a nutrient!

Historia
In Dr. Steven Gundry’s breakout best-seller The Plant Paradox, people learned the surprising truth about foods that have long been regarded as healthy. Lectins - a type of protein found in fruits, vegetables, legumes, dairy, and grains - wreak havoc on the gut, creating systemic inflammation and laying the groundwork for disease and weight gain. Now, in The Plant Paradox Quick and Easy, Dr. Gundry makes it simpler than ever to go lectin-free. His 30-day challenge offers incentives, support, and results along with a toolkit for success.

Less Overwhelming
Revisado: 01-31-25
I first read the original full length version and I'd recommend it for people with serious illness. I found that version overwhelming and this one much more manageable!

Heralded as an instant classic of fantasy literature, Maguire has written a wonderfully imaginative retelling of The Wizard of Oz told from the Wicked Witch's point of view. More than just a fairy tale for adults, Wicked is a meditation on the nature of good and evil.

Accent Pretty Wrong
Revisado: 01-13-25
The accent is all wrong and who pronounces "parka", "parker" (and does so REPEATEDLY)?! Those minor things aside, I enjoyed this novella and would enjoy more enstallments of Kimberly in London.

Historia
Alice's journey begins as all good journeys do: hitting on the sales guy at REI. After a tumultuous breakup, a quick career transition, family upheaval, and a sobriety journey that didn't fix her life quite as much as she expected it to, Alice decides that the only way to solve all her problems is to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. But as she begins preparing for the months-long quest, she realizes the answers she's seeking might not be on top of a snow-covered mountain. Especially since she just learned there was snow in California.

Cheering on this Self-centered character
Revisado: 01-05-25
I found myself cheering on this self-centered and almost unlikable character. Btw, one is unlikely to lose 30 pounds in one day, even by delivering a baby.

Lianne Moriarty always writes a great tale! Initially, this one was difficult to immerse myself in because of the heartbreaking predictions. By the end, I was satisfied though holding back some tears.

Better than the 1st in Series
Revisado: 12-01-24
It's rare to find a Book Two that's better than the Book One. This was an exception to that rule. I enjoyed book one just enough to get book two. This was was clearer and more complex. The 2nd voice of another character was gripping. The secret was haunting. The end was almost satisfying but like real life everything isn't fair.
