Wisdom Galore
Revisado: 03-26-25
From the first moment, i could tell this book was different and special. The wisdom and lessons never stop and i feel i will read this again and take it slower. The virtual voice could be better and with some pronunciations, but it does not ruin the experience or importance of the work. In my exploration of the Christian Orthodox and noticing a stark difference in the lack of flow and expression of priests compared to this almost glossy prose, i find myself preferring this perfected smoothness to any off the cuff advice. When i think of my journey to find truth, humility and a relationship with God, i think of this and highly recommend this work.

This hilarious, heartfelt, and soaring adventure will delight fans of The Goonies and Indiana Jones. Performed as a 1930s radio drama, it’s bursting with humor for all ages, orchestral scoring, and some of the most talented voices on Broadway. When their ace pilot parents (and adorable puppy) mysteriously disappear over the Pacific, the Flamingo Sisters - Flo, Faye, and Franny - escape the clutches of their evil Uncle Freidrich (who believes girls should never pilot aeroplanes) and join a flying circus.

Enthusiastically Full of Flying Cheese
Revisado: 12-05-24
Full of bad jokes like holy guacamole, and unbelievable 1920's emotion in the style of old radio broadcasts. The tropes are not any better with the male as the villian and all the heroes women, and don't forget an opportune yet out of place "gender normative" rub for good measure. Thankfully the short length of the show/book kept me around, just to say i finished it.

God is everywhere and always with us. So why don't we experience his presence more? Life is full of distractions, and our 24/7 news cycles and social media drown out the voice of God. It's hard to discern God's presence amid the hubbub. But experiencing God is not just for the super-spiritual or ultra-mature. Every Christian can learn to cultivate a greater awareness of God in the everyday. Ken Boa offers a contemporary guide to practicing the presence of God.

All Quality and no Filler
Revisado: 10-05-24
This book is one of the best I have read in this genre and there have been many others that I have read. Kenneth Boa says it in a slightly different way and his life experience comes whether quoting other legends in the faith or offering his own words of wisdom. He dances effortlessly through new testament, old testament and back again, all great references along the way. I received a lot of other book references to check out and he even hints that most good ones are old ones, without disparaging like an old fogey. I actually read this one twice and very glad i did as most parts were fresh in my mind in a good way.

Historia
It's the most significant question of all time: Is there a God, or isn't there? In this compelling book, Ray Comfort argues the case with simple logic and common sense. If there is a God, surely he has made his presence known so that anyone, young or old, scholar or school child, can find him. By applying basic logic to three clear evidences for the existence of God, Comfort will help you examine the case for evolution, explore the facts that led the world's most notorious atheist to acknowledge a creator, and more.

Chapter 13 was my favorite!
Revisado: 04-22-24
Everything about this book was great. I've read several of Ray Comfort's books and they usually have parts that are boring. However, this book, How to Know God Exists, seems to flow seamlessly and never gets boring. The first part of the book doesn't use many bible verses and proves God by the cteation and science and through our minds (conscience). And the telling of the Gospel is the easiest and in its simplest form throughout this book.

So boring compared to Pride & Prejudice
Revisado: 03-11-24
So boring compared to Pride & Prejudice, which was much better. At least i learned the word sensibility does not mean what it did back then and we get a positive version of sense (elinor) and a negative example (marianne).

Historia
At once profoundly personal and far-reaching, Exit Interview with My Grandmother serves as a meditation on the beginning of a young woman’s life and the series of questions that arise from examining love, loss, family, memory, and death. Moving between cities and centuries, Meyersohn probes her family's Jewish history and her grandparents' relationships in part to decipher her own young queer relationships, but also to examine how we ought to behave in the face of a world riddled with uncertainty and doubt.

Should have had more about wisdom from the grandmother, but she wasn't that interesting so apparently the author did the best she could and talked about her gay lifestyle and traveling to Germany. Waste of time for me.

Historia
This urgent and eye-opening book makes the case that protecting humanity's future is the central challenge of our time. If all goes well, human history is just beginning. Our species could survive for billions of years - enough time to end disease, poverty, and injustice, and to flourish in ways unimaginable today. But this vast future is at risk. With the advent of nuclear weapons, humanity entered a new age, where we face existential catastrophes - those from which we could never come back.

A New Religion Thankfully Lacking Emotion
Revisado: 09-22-23
Perhaps if the author/speaker was more compelling with more eloquent words and religious emotions behind the scientific presentation, it may be more pressing or convincing. Thankfully, this was not the case and instead, stern faith is all that is required to start shoving money into the collection plate of these space happy wannabes. Their "facts" of science are so far fetched and stale, it makes Jesus dieing on the cross and rising again more believable than ever. Still, i did notice how in awe and worshipful he was about our solar system; giving the most adjectives in the whole book to the final chapter about how wonderfully made our universe is, it shows how close he is to acknowledging it has a creator. I did enjoy his scientific detail regarding the intricatecies of nuclear fallout and what that might entail, but again it was more fascinating than scary. I share the hope to one day travel among the stars, but books like this show more the proof that having the confidence in God and preparing for the afterlife is the smarter and more sensible course of action.
