Historia
Cole Kimball and Laila Olivet have been best friends their entire lives. Cole is the only person (apart from blood relatives) who's seen Laila in her oversized, pink, plastic Sophia Loren glasses. Laila is always the first person to taste test any new dish Cole creates in his family's restaurant . . . even though she has the refined palate of a kindergartener. Most importantly, Cole and Laila are always talking. About everything. When Cole discovers a betrayal from his recently deceased grandfather that shatters his world, staying in Adelaide Springs, Colorado, is suddenly unfathomable.

I loved this story—and the performance. (Can Andrew Eiden read everything from now on?) Cole and Laila are tons of fun. The premise of friends to more… who had never even considered being “more” before… was a unique twist on the trope.

Fans of the Bachelorette will find this historical version charming. I knew who I wanted Willow to end up with, but the author did a great job of keeping me guessing and making me like all of the suitors.

Unique premise
Revisado: 12-18-24
Sometimes romance plots can feel very similar, but I loved how unique this premise was. The characters and the automobile racing world were fun and engaging, and their emotions seemed real. I can’t wait to read Abbey Downey’s next book!

From the comical moments to the ones that tug on your heartstrings, this story captures you from Adeline’s first encounter with Luke to the very last page. I loved every moment. Well-written, well-narrated. The best kind of story.

A sockdolager story!
Revisado: 10-23-24
Hunt’s books make me grin, tear up, and laugh out loud. It was an absolute pleasure to visit this one again in audiobook format. There’s adventure, romance, joy, and sorrow, and it’s all spun in Hunt’s delicious prose and careful, confident handling of God’s word and his church as an institution and a community.

Fun story and voices, volume a little frustrating
Revisado: 06-29-19
Ronald Dahl never disappoints and narrator Kate Winslet does a fabulous job keeping up the energy of all those exclamation points he writes in. However, I felt the sound mixing was a little frustrating. The regular narrating voices were on the quiet side, so we had to turn the volume up high... and then all the loud/shouting voices were a little ear-piercing. But on the whole, this story is worth fighting the volume control for.
