If the author has had a cognitive decline, I am so sorry.

The brilliance of the characters and the use of language and the nuance of Wicked is peeking through occasionally.

But why even put this out? I recommend including a reach out to your customers, “Because of commercial considerations, we have provided an audible version of this title. However, we recommend that you read the Kindle or hard copy version to fully appreciate this book.”

So I will choke down the remaining few hours.

An awful amount of oatmeal mush (as I collapse into the donkey cart) [put the emPHASis on the wrong SYLlable]…

Valuable Attention Wasted In This Timeline

I liked the premise, gagged on the execution, and a quantum shift in my digestive tract forced a pause response. There is as they say no accounting for taste. (Extra stars to the narration as he didn’t write it and we all need to eat. )

I Think I’ll Try To Read It Myself

I kept coming back to it because I liked the story. Then the narration would put me off. If you keep going, you can maybe adjust a little but I couldn’t.
Xenophobia aside, this other species has not quite picked up the language. Or possibly she just needs a few more cycles or allocation or whatever expensive thing makes an AI smarter.
It may be great that these books get the chance to be read.
However, this book may be good, maybe not, I can’t tell, and that fact probably doesn’t serve the author.

Took a Wrong Turn for Me

It started out as a readable, man pairs up with AI, until it turned into a wandering mess where the main character sleeps with the helpless women he has rescued. Not that I have anything against romance but I didn't feel like waiting it out to see if wasn't pointless. The narration was pretty good.

Cliche, Overproduced, and Annoying - Otherwise Ok

Had to stop,
This genre, multi-cast, sound effects, etc., is such a waste. So many people worked so hard on this.
Audio books are best when good narrators reads good books to us.
Imagine a story with a character who’s life was changed by discovery of their role in the evil corp and who changed and showed us how we could change too…
Good books are out there.

I saw a History Channel about a girl who actually did this. And it was interesting.

It is conventional to rate the narrator higher but you have to be honest with yourself. .

An Amazing Book

This is my favorite listen in a long while.
Really good.
If it gets too dark, hang on. It is worth the ride.
(Not recommended for misogynists.)

An Important and Fun Book

I just finshed listening to "Humanity's Promise" but that is another book/review, though that prompted me to write this review.

Each of the characters, concepts and ideas feel familiar and border on the cliche to just the right amount. Taken together they create a unique story and a fantastic listening experience.

It is enjoyable to meet each character and see them develop and get weaved into a crew.
There is also ample humor and fun pop and historical references.

The important aspect of this book is the rare and enspiring demonstration of how people, flawed and diverse in many ways, can be brought together for a noble cause and redefine the impossible.

Lovecraft in space. Well maybe not. But I enjoyed it. Sometimes we forget how satisfying it is when characters actually develop in the midst of attention grabbing action Good job.
