Not very scary and nothing thrilling about it. I was expecting a good horror story but it was just meh.

I love this author and the plot was really good. The narrator always reads well and listening to a smooth male voice is always a delightful experience.

The author didn’t even try
Revisado: 12-05-24
This is the most scooby doobiest book I have listened to. The author really does not consider the critical thinking minds of mystery/thriller lovers. I am glad it was included with membership and I didn’t waste a credit on it.

Badly written story and abysmal narration
Revisado: 08-22-24
Some reviewers need to look up the definitions for twists and turns as they relate to writing because this book was predictable and boring. Too many unnecessary details and not enough writing to keep my attention. The narrator must read soft porn as her regular job because the heavy breathing was annoying ad nauseam. She had my anxiety on 10. Skip this if you want a good thriller.

Narrator was good
Revisado: 07-12-24
This story was ok but it needed better character development. The husband’s character was never properly developed not was he held accountable for cheating. All of the penance was on the wife. There was too many over the top situations and without character development it makes the story less relatable and appealing.

Repetitive
Revisado: 05-20-24
The author is clearly taking advantage of her customer base. A clear money grab. Most of these books in this series could be combined. Most of the content of these books are just repeated happenings of the previous books. I skipped a lot because of the constant going over what happened in the past. Every storyline in this book was repeated, even in the mist of repeating the storyline lol. You see what I did here?! So I am going to skip to the last installment instead of wasting my money.

Historia
Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance - and healing - in each other's arms.

The narrator was dreadful
Revisado: 05-07-24
The story was not as good as the previous books in this series. The author never revealed the root cause of Nesta’s ire towards Feirye. It convoluted the story as a whole. We can deduce that she was jealous but I still needed a why. Why did she favor Elaine over Feirye? The author focused on Nesta’s behavior but in my opinion could have done a better job with character development. The narrator was many things. An oxymoron in her storytelling. She was loud and soft; dramatic and underwhelming at the same time. She used this whispery decrepit voice that didn’t fit any of the characters with the exception of the immortal queen. She used her dramatic voice even when speaking as the narrator. If the character was in the throws of an epic battle she kept her dramatic tone and energy throughout the scene even when she was speaking as the narrator and not as a character. This made her overall performance manic and was a turn off. I almost gave up on this series but I had already spent so much time on listening to the other books and decided to keep going. I found that speeding up the pace of her reading helped immensely. I had the pace set to 1.5. It was the only way I could get through the book. Good luck with this one.

A repeat of Book 1
Revisado: 03-31-24
This was a waste of time. This author cannot develop a story or character well enough for one book let alone a series. The book was a literal repeat of book one. When authors make a drastic change in narrators it can be irritating for listeners. I thought the narrator with the first book was bad with the mispronunciations but the narrator for Lyric was the worst I heard thus far. She sounded half dead. I skipped through a lot. This should have been a one and done book.
