His voice and cadence, leading you through someone's inner world . Vivid descriptions and detailed emotions...
I have listened 3 times over a year or so, sometimes while doing artwork, sometimes with eyes closed and drifting~~~

From a very strong and promising opening full of vivid and mortifying images... it quickly sinks into a cornball story with Hallmark-y character names. They all "speak" in the writer's serviceable but generic voice.
I expect slow points but the maudlin and pedestrian sentiment (never a surprise) killed the interest I was trying to hang on to. I think I lasted a few chapters (which display different numbers than the quite good narrator states (!?) but I heard myself yell, "Oh no! That is just about enough!" when Bill began to talk about "the freckle" in her eye...
I am out. 7 more hours and I won't care if my chute opens. Open the pod bay door Hal!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend 'The Debt Conspiracy' to anyone who loves stories with international intrigue, dangerous action and characters with convoluted motivations. The Black Team of Anti-Terrorist Special Ops has its work cut out for it as duty and loyalty clash with shifting allegiances and secret personal treachery is revealed.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I would love more development of personal relationships along with the breakneck action and more physical descriptions to go along with the great voices of the characters.

Which scene was your favorite?

Strangely, I really began to engage with the story when the seductive bar girl slipped the hotel card key for Room 402 under Operative Lance West's drink at Club Combo. You could feel the story getting ready to make a major gear change...and not at all the way you might have expected.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was well-paced but I didn't have any extreme reactions as I listened. I was mostly trying to second-guess where the twists and turns were taking the characters.

Any additional comments?

Very strong cast of voice actors and a nice variety of accents and dialects - Australian for the narration, a wide array of Asian characters (Japanese, Chinese, Thai) + a well-delineated group of American character voices, both male and female. The 'behind the scenes' interview is a plus, as is the "alternate ending" which follows the writer, director, production staff and voice acting talent discussions on how the project was conceived and came together.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Although I prefer a more heavy duty drama, I would recommend this for friends who like light and entertaining comedy fare.
It's somewhat reminiscent of the old school romantic nutball comedies where the Nice Guy with the best of intentions is hit by one disaster after another - the embarrassment of a clinic visit; a weirdo body painter friend; a biking competitor who has it in for him; an 18-wheeler crushing his beloved racing bike and a rocky road with the girl of his dreams who knows a lot about the birds and bees but doesn't know if she trusts Tommy when she inadvertently catches him in a compromising position with a naked woman.

Would you be willing to try another book from Will Lewis? Why or why not?

Sure, I might give it a try. Part of what I'm interested in is hearing how multiple voices can be utilized in an AudibleScript making it more like a film than a 'normal' AudioBook read by a single narrator. I've co-written a screenplay and am toying with the idea of having it performed by voice actors, so hearing this was very 'educational'..

What about Anna Tyrie’s performance did you like?

Great job! She does a very clean, professional job, although I first found it a little jarring having one distinctively regional British voice weaving its way through a story full of American personalities.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Sometimes a Close Shave can be just the beginning of your problems...

Any additional comments?

The variety of voices help propel the story right along and make it much easier to differentiate the characters than the standard AudioBook with a single voice narration.

Never underestimate homeless man Terrence...

If you could sum up One Last One in three words, what would they be?

Intriguing and loaded with action. 1st Class voiceover work throughout.

What was one of the most memorable moments of One Last One?

The tense mano a mano moment when Ages-old Alina makes the mistake of trying to force Terrence to bend to her Vampire will.

Have you listened to any of Dawn Harvey’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have only heard small samples of her work but I was impressed by her ability.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Because I love dogs, I was very touched by the bond between homeless man Terrence and his canine companion 'Weeds'.

Any additional comments?

Although I don't ordinarily gravitate toward supernatural screenplays, this one rolls right along with a very distinctive array of well-cast character voices and almost non-stop action as Human, Were and Vampire cultures collide and blend.
Hearing a well-performed Narration by a female performer was a big + and a nice change of pace.
