A turbulent ride from start to finish
Summer is a good time of year to pick a listen for pure entertainment value—so I went for something I’d normally be more inclined to binge-watch in a lineup of disaster movies (a favorite cinematic genre of mine and something of a guilty pleasure). Falling is an in-flight thriller—a fast-paced ball of suspense that’s a pure joy to try to catch. I love that T.J. Newman is a flight attendant turned debut author and that Steven Weber of TV’s Wings fame narrates. Weber’s performance has equal parts “voice in the sky” omniscient vibes and retro “I know this guy” feels. Just when you thought it was safe to go back into an airplane, here comes something new to worry about. Am I the only one who oddly welcomes the distraction? —Tricia F., Audible Editor

I could not put this book down. And I felt good when I finished it. She is a marvelous story teller.

Best book since the Exorcist.

It is a good idea for a book. But toward the end, I kept screaming in my mind: JUST END!. There has to be a build to climax, and then wrap up, end. It was really painful pushing through the last 2 hours of this audiobook. The adverse events kept coming and coming. So ridiculously unbelievable, improbable and impossible. And then he knew the answer with no support, just guessed right, but he dislocated his arm, and then he crashed his car, and then, and then … And then coincidences upon coincidences. And then everybody is the worst of humanity! And the best of humanity! Ug!

A very competently written and told story of a terrorist high-jacking a plane, but towards the end, it turns into an episode of "24". Not in a good way.

I stopped with 2 hours to go because it sounded like the mystery was all wrapped up and I can’t imagine what more needed to be said other than the hero goes home. I’m glad to see other reviewers were also confused by the names: Ben, Bill, Sam, Scott (or some other S name)… “Daddy” didn’t help matters and no, that isn’t the name of a father. The premise is interesting. Saw the author on The Today Show. Happy for her success but I don’t need to read any more of her books though.
