The story was interesting and the narration was top notch. I was pleased to hear the tone and pace of the story, it gave it a real around the campfire tone.

Just Google Corey Wayne

Save your money and time and do as this book tells you over and over again. "Just google Corey Wayne...." It was annoying and a waste of my time to buy and listen to this book. It was full of common sense, mom and dad style advice. It is good advice but each time you think there will be an example of what he is trying to illustrate, he just says "google Corey Wayne". So don't buy it, just google it.

A grand adventure!

Well written, with genuine characters that feel real. The story is thoughtful without being boring and exiting without being fatiguing. Each character has flaws and desires that motivate their every move. No one is exactly what they seem and nothing can be taken for granted. Tropes are turned on their heads and it is a delight to see.

Better than the first novel

This was a much more engaging story than the first. I couldn't put it down. The story moved along at a steady pace without lulls or slow spots. the characters are all distinct and memorable. I am looking forward to the next book. I regret not buying them all at the convention when I was offered a deal.

Lifelong sci Fi fan, but this was not for me

Struggled to finish. Advise would be show don't tell. About 90% of this tome was exposition. The dialogue was a bit too melodramatic. I couldn't reconcile the reason for doing what they did in the end. The idea that total annihilation is the only solution wasn't firmly established. Just didn't enjoy this as much as I wanted to.

Interesting premise poor execution. The narration was awful. It was as though every character had teenage levels of angst and snark. I just couldn't make it though this one.

Very needed fresh take on Vampires!

Finished in two days. Great adventure, well paced. Gritty, bold, unapologetic, and bloody. I can't wait for the next book.

Can Simpering Incel be a valid protagonist?

This was possibly the worst, most juvenile attempt at fantasy that I have ever had to fight my way through. I feel like this was written by someone that has never been in a relationship or seen one on TV. when it wasn't being juvenile, it was misogynistic, or down right laughable. Humans don't interact like these psychotic people. the random f-bombs also felt forced and random. Much of the tension is broken by the author announcing the outcome before narrating the action. this was a mess that struggled to finish. No more of this.

Read this book!

Don't let the beginning fool you, this isn't your run of the mill fantasy retread. this is a great story. I won't say more , to do so would ruin the story. Just enjoy the ride.
