I got addicted to watching the Homicide Hunter on ID Discovery. When I saw Kenda had written a book, I purchased it. I Will Find You: Solving Killer Cases from my Life Fight Crime is like an extended episode of the series, with more details included. Joe Kenda recovers some of the stories shown in the series along with some stories that are unsuitable for television. His family are shown in more detail than on the series. The later portion of the book discusses his adjustment to life after the police department.

Kenda tells his story with the same kind of intensity and humor he shows on Homicide Hunter. The book gives an extended opportunity for the reader to find out more about Joe Kenda and gives a bit of insight on the lives of some law enforcement officers.

I buy other crime books by Joe Kenda.

Egyptology is one of my go-to subjects and I am familiar with Fletcher's work, so I really wanted to get this book when it became available. It's been an interesting read (listen?). I've discovered new facts, such as the number of female pharoahs who ruled Egypt. The section on Nefertiti/Smenkhkare was fascinating.

The book is far-reaching and sometimes my mind wandered. I think the Matching Kindle Book would help me pick up the parts that I miss.

This is another version of the 2008 K2 climbing disaster depicted in Buried in the Sky and the documentary The Summit. Pat Falvey has an strong accent but I adjusted to it after the first couple of chapters and had no further difficulties. If the author's accent is a concern, the print version would probably be a better choice.

I chose to try this book because it was one of Oprah's book club selections. I usually don't listen to book club selections of any kind. It was obviously a well written book and well read by the narrator. It was mildly interesting. I managed to plod through most of the stories, but I just couldn't get into the book enough to finish it.
