I’ve listened to all of the books in this series, this one I found particularly boring with too much unnecessary details.
Increasing the number of hours doesn’t make it a good listen.

Only one Star Because There's no Minus One

I was really happy to see that a new John Cory book was being released, then I listened to it and WOW what a waste of my time.
I don't remember John being sooo boring or so hateful towards his wife Kate. Women in this book was treated like dirt by the men around them and the degrading acts the Author had them perform. This was my last John Cory book.

Male Voices Unbearable

I tried listening to this book twice before but just can't bear the sound of the narrator's male characters.

My Brain Needs a Rest

I should have followed my first instinct and not continue to listen to this book. The story had way too many unnecessary twists and turns. I like Win but he needs Myron to offset his peculiar personality. I am returning this book, I have no plans to listen to it again, my brain would explode.

Not My Favorite Gray Man Novel

I love the Gray Man novels but I struggled to get into this one because I found most of the first half boring and the narrator didn't help matters.

Eventhough I didn't have a problem per say with the subject matter I grew weary of hearing over and over about the cruelty these girls and young women suffered at the hands of their captives within the white slave market. As a woman it just became too much for me, how many times do you have to say they were raped, mentally abused and thought of as less than human.

I am Done

Eventhough I would like to know what happened to the Mercy, I'm done with this series. Making it to the end was hard. It was like the author had scrapes leftover from a few books and meshed it into one.

Twist?

I know some reviewers wrote about the twist and their omg moment but it wasn't surprising to me. It fit everything we learned about the unlikable doctor. At least this book didn't cost me any money.

Lightweight

I didn't find much substance to this book. There were no characters I really liked , the story was nothing special and the narrator kept getting the voices of the characters mixed up.

I see this is a series so I'm assuming the author gets better with each book, but I'm not interested in finding out.

My Poor Head

I would return this book if it wasn't included in my plan, listening to it made my poor head spin.

I liked it at first but then it went all over the place from fiction to nonfiction to scifi and back again; from timelines, to different characters and places with very little or no help from the author to make it easier to follow.

Where was the editor, better sequencing of the chapters and chopping off three to four hours could have made this a better book or at a minimum saved me wasted time. I hung in there because I needed to see how the author wrapped it up...... well that wasn't worth it either.
