Awful
Revisado: 10-05-24
I think it is written by a computer because the same phrases and sentences are repeated over and over. I couldn’t listen to it.

Historia
It is September 1919: Twenty-one-year-old Tristan Sadler takes a train from London to Norwich to deliver a package of letters to the sister of Will Bancroft, the man he fought alongside during the Great War. But the letters are not the real reason for Tristan's visit. He can no longer keep a secret and has finally found the courage to unburden himself of it. As Tristan recounts the horrific details of what to him became a senseless war, he also speaks of his friendship with Will - from their first meeting on the training grounds at Aldershot to their farewell in the trenches of northern France.

Engrossing Story
Revisado: 07-05-23
The narrator is a relatable character, who you grow to like, then you find out how much he suffered and the mistake he made, and somehow you like him even more. He is a victim of his time, but he has found meaning in it. This was a great story and I enjoyed it enough to listen to more books by this author.

Enjoyed it
Revisado: 05-07-23
This was a well-written story that kept me listening for days. I saw the movie first but now I’m going to have to see it again because the book contains so much more. I’m surprised at how well Sarah Waters writes and how beautifully the narrator was able to capture the personality of each character. Highly recommend; do not let the length overwhelm you, it is worth the time listening.

Interesting and Entertaining
Revisado: 06-09-22
The author is a very insightful and honest therapist and kind enough to share his wisdom through fictional and real stories and characters.
