Historia
Renée Ballard and the LAPD’s Open-Unsolved Unit get a hot shot DNA connection between a recently arrested man and a serial rapist and murderer who went quiet twenty years ago. The arrested man is only twenty-four, so the genetic link must be familial: His father was the Pillowcase Rapist, responsible for a five-year reign of terror in the city of angels. But when Ballard and her team move in on their suspect, they encounter a baffling web of secrets and legal hurdles. Meanwhile, Ballard’s badge, gun, and ID are stolen.

Historia
With their vast cargo holds and a crew that could fill a city, the Greatships are the lifeblood of human-occupied space, transporting an unimaginable volume - and value - of goods from City, the greatest human orbital, all the way to Tradepoint at the other, to trade for xenoglas with an unknowable alien species. It has always been Marca Nbaro's dream to achieve the near-impossible: escape her upbringing and venture into space.

Well developed universe and great action sequences
Revisado: 08-01-24
Mr. Camron’s Artifact Space is a wild romp through space four-hundred plus years in the future. The author excels at setting, pace, and, best of all, character development.
Marca Nbaro escapes from then horrors of an orphanage from hell to fake her way onto the Great Ship Athens. Pursued by a sadistic Domino bent on killing her, she worms her way into the good graces of the ships crew. But all is not what it seems aboard the Athens. Sinister forces are at work both on the great ship and in wait at their ports of call. A cabal is out to stop the mighty ship and Marca wonders who she can trust. Non stop action combined with a robust world makes for compelling read.
Cameron’s years as a naval officer shine through his descriptions of ancient ship board customs still practiced in the far future. The fight scenes are fast, furious, and very believable. I can’t wait to read the sequel out on August 1st!

Not Ken Folllet's Best Knights Bridge Saga
Revisado: 11-21-23
I truly enjoy Ken Follett's work, but I was somewhat disappointed in this tome. The history was excellent, as were the technology descriptions, however, I found the story more predictable than his earlier works. Some of the characters' actions were difficult to fathom and seemed outside my ability to suspend my disbelief. I will always read/listen to Mr. Follett's work and hopefully find his next effort more in line with his excellent past novels.

Rich in detail and Navy lore, Hill’s pulse pounding story makes the reader turn the next page. Apart from some distressing pronunciations by the narrator, the story is spellbinding.

Prequel to Asleep in a Sea of Stars
Revisado: 05-27-23
Christopher Paolini did a great job on the research and the telling of this tale. It is emotionally dark but with lots of thrilling action with a strong scientific base. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Jennifer Hills narration, was excellent, as always, and breathes life into the characters and the place. The “thuds”throughout provided a sense of impending doom. It’s a story of catharsis and redemption from a horrible event in a far off star system. Good story, well read, if not somewhat dark. Sadly, Christopher has decided to go back to swords and dragons. We’ll have to wait a while for a sequel to Asleep in a Sea of Stars. 😎
