The four book trilogy of the guide are one of the great books.
The best recording was by Stephen Moore about 25 years ago.

Very well done. The research was extensive. The results were appalling. The FDA is portrayed as incompetent with many staff likely on the “take”.

To many side streets

It might have been a good book if there weren’t so many side streets that did nothing to advance the story. All they did was slow down, confuse and drag out the book without adding any substance to the narrative.

Don’t bother;there are better choices

Unfortunately, there is nothing much good that I can say about the book. Also very unfortunately since I’m a big Scott Brick fan, this narration was ridiculously overdramatized by Scott. The book is tedious and entirely predictable.
No redeeming qualities. Sorry!

Insipid but well enough narrated so well by Scott Brick that it’s entertaining enough.

Tedious with about a thousand stupid, insidious and snarky remarks that slow down the book and by halfway through the book are just terribly annoying. Good audible book that you don’t have to listen too carefully. Entirely predictable. If you’ve read one John Corey book, you’ve read them all.

Wrong narrator

The book was interesting and informative but the narrator was just wrong for this book. I would have preferred a more mature voice.

Who cares?

Someone chose this book for book club or I would never read it. I suppose to New Yorkers this book is more meaningful, but to me, who cares?
Money made, money squandered, money wasted on the already rich. Minimal mention of what public good their money went for.

Hallmark story for Catholics

In the end this will make a great Hallmark TV movie. Interesting storyline but in the end he finds religion and solves all of life’s issues and problems. Predictable.
